The Chiefs got a badly needed win last night but paid a big price. The good news is an MRI showed no ligament damage in Mahomes knee. The three weeks he's expected to miss should also allow that ankle to heal.

Where did that defense come from? They smothered the Denver offense while racking up a team record 9 sacks, forcing 3 fumbles and holding Denver to just over 200 yards in total offense. I wonder if Frank Clark read what I said about him in another thread because he was a beast last night, collecting 2 sacks and forcing a fumble. They can weather this storm if the defense continues to play at a high level and they limit mistakes on offense.

Does this mean the Chiefs defense has turned a corner? I don't know but they should play with a lot more confidence going forward.

I'm not a chiefs fan but I am relieved to hear MH might only be out for 3 weeks! I love watching that guy 'ballin' he's amazing! I am actually really impressed with watching the 49ers this season their been brill.

Wish I could say the same about my team the Bucks.. :/ I thought we were doing great on defense till last week and that Winston had turned a corner.. But no.. He then had the worse game of his season and still sucks..:/

Maybe been in buy week this week they can pull something off in training to at least make this season respectable and give something for the fans too look too in the future! Fingers crossed

The 49ers managed only nine points but it was enough for a 9-0 win over Washington.

The Cardinals defense sacked Giants QB D. Jones 8 times on their way to a 27-21 win.

Miami almost blew their quest for a perfect 0-16 season before falling to Buffalo 31-21.

Marv Lewis is gone but its made little difference in the Queen City. Jags 27 Bengals 17.

The Raiders win streak ends at two as they are pummeled by Green Bay 42-24.

The Rams put another nail in the Falcons season 37-10 while ending their three game skid.

The Vikings have turned into a scoring machine the last three weeks. Minn. 42 Lions 30.

Colts over Houston 30-23.

The Chargers already slim postseason hopes suffered another blow as they lose to the Titans 23-20. The Bolts can't get out of their own way. Late in the game they had a touchdown overturned on review, and on the second try Gordon lost a fumble on the one yard line.

The Ravens go to Century Link and shock Seattle 30-16.

Saints over the Bears 36-25 and the game was not as close as the score might suggest. The Bears only offensive touchdown came at the 2:31 mark when the outcome was not in doubt. The boo birds were out early and were not shy about letting Trubisky and the anemic offense have it. Chicago did pull off a successful onside kick, the only team to do so this season.

I read today via Adam Schefter that there are some who believe that Pat Mahomes could be back in less than three weeks. He definitely dodged a bullet, but he already wasn't himself with that ankle. So we'll see how this all affects him.

As far as the rest of week 7 goes, these are my biggest takeaways:

: Outside of Peyton Manning, John Elway has struck out when it comes to bringing in QBs to lead the Broncos. Jury is still out on Drew Lock obviously.
: The clock is ticking on Falcons HC Dan Quinn. No defense, the offense was shut down and Matt Ryan got hurt. The team has to be one of the biggest disappointments of 2019.
: The Colts are doing just fine without Andrew Luck.
: After being called about by Adam Thielen, Kirk Cousins has balled out. Though Thielens status next week is reportedly up in the air.
: Aaron Rodgers is now in the MVP race.
: Daniel Jones hasn't looked nearly as good since his debut game. He could still be a great one, but I think everyone's come back down to earth.
: Kyler Murray looks more comfortable out there, and the Cardinals have now put up three straight wins.
: Melvin Gordon has been mainly a dud since he ended his holdout, and how todays game ended just makes things worse.
: Drew Bress is expected to start practicing this week, but now I'm wondering if he gets his job back. The Saints are rolling with Teddy Bridgewater at the helm. Even with no Kamara today, their offense didn't miss a beat against the Bears.
: The Cowboys are having a huge turnaround game, blowing out the Eagles who have to me majorly concerned about their defense.

As far as the Redskins go, this image is all that's needed.
