I didn't even realize either event was on today because in my opinion the NHL All-Star game and the Pro Bowl are probably the two most boring of all the all-star games. Granted, the MLB All-Star game isn't that great either, but in hockey there is no real checking and thus you get scores of 11-10, and in football it might as well be two-hand touch. Baseball is pretty much throw, hit, and run, so it doesn't differentiate much from a normal game other than guys sliding hard into bases or running into to the catcher. At least in the NBA All-Star game you get guys doing crazy passes and dunks so it's sort of fun to watch.

I have to agree...and the other thing is...when the pros play these games..esp football, they are risking of getting hurt before next season which in my opinion, is stupid..even if you arent going all out. I think they should scrap most of these all star games because they arent that interesting and as far as I know most people dont watch them anyways.

Hence the fact that they put both the hockey and NFL ones both on the same day. My guess is neither one did good with the ratings. I don't even watch the MLB one. They are honestly pointless and, like you mentioned, nobody is going all out and risking getting injured.

The only best-of-the-best I enjoy watching is the World Cup in Soccer. That's only because it's the best All-Star teams from around the world competing for their Nation's honor. Also, it's only once every 4 years.

I saw part of the Pro Bowl and found it funny that with 96 points scored and almost 1000 yards of total offense from both teams that a defensive player won the MVP

I would have watched the All Star Game but I was really tired and went to bed around 6:30. From what I heard it wasn't very interesting 11-10 final isn't my idea of entertaining Hockey.

i cared about the all star game and the skills competition. i dvr'd both and have watched them and i thought it was really cool, myself. couldn't give a shit about the pro-bowl or the super bowl, for that matter. but that's just me.

You maybe shocked to know that the Pro Bowls rating was up making it the highest rating ever, being from philly I relate it to the Micheal Vick Experience.

In a word: NO. The Pro Bowl especially has evolved into an unwatchable game where the players don't want to tackle anybody. I can't blame them though. Who would want to get injured in what turns out to be a glorified exhibition game? Can you imagine if Peyton Manning or Tom Brady would get a serious injury in the Pro Bowl? That would be the end of the Pro Bowl.

I have to applaud the NHL though for at least trying to be innovative. I enjoyed the fantasy draft they had to pick teams before the game. I could see other leagues trying something along that lines to spark more interest in their games.

They need to do something. The all-star games themselves are unwatchable.

The mlb all-star game deciding home field advantage in the World Series is a joke also. Another one of Bud's idiot ideas.

I think that the next thing to go is going to the "World Classic" in baseball. They are trying to create a World Cup version of baseball, but it's almost completely pointless seeing as how all of the Super Stars from all of the countries play for the MLB already. One of these players is going to suffer a season or career ending inury at it and that will end the World Classic. To be honest, it just feels like watching extended Pre-Season baseball. Most of the lating american countries involved have line-ups filled almost entirely by MLB Players.
