When Ross got to his suite in the hotel, he requested as many ice packs as possible. He used such on his testicles.
Predictably, Ross's phone started ringing, with multiple phone calls from Kayley.
Ross sent an angry text. "I must keep my phone on 24-7 in case my 82 year old father needs me. Stop calling me, or I swear by morning I will be retaining divorce counsel and I am done with you, lady! This time you do not run the show of what happens! I do!" Ross said, and the phone stopped ringing once that text had been sent.,
Ross lied in his suite in Manhattan, and Kayley lied in the couple's bed in Queens, both completely stunned at the events that had happened.
When morning came., Ross did not know what he wanted to do, or where he wanted to go. His mind raced. Should he go to the office? Back to Queens to pack clothes?
Ross sent Kayley a text. "Need clothes, coming back to the apartment to get clothes. Please do not be there when I get there"
"I went to work. I know you don't want to see me. Go and get your clothes. I will stay away" Kayley said.
Ross took an Uber back to Queens, packed about a month's worth of clothes in several suitecases, went back to the hotel, dropped off the clothes, and figured he would go to the office to keep his mind busy.
Ross sauntered in about noon. "Vic, please come into my office. I have something to tell you"
Vic followed Ross into Ross's office, and closed the door.
Ross sat in his chair, and gave a long sigh.
"Ross, you look upset. Can I help you" Vic asked.
"Vic, I am very upset, betrayed, humiliated, furious, all those words. Of course I dont have to tell you that this conversation does not leave this office. Something terrible happened last night. A package came to the apartment saying that an old deal involving an old company had collapsed, to the tune of about 100 million. I have to settle it somehow. I will get an attorney to deal with that in the next day or so, but I have a much , much more serious problem. When I read Kayley the letter, she lost it. Not only was she screaming her head off. She started beating me with her fists. I went to hold her down on the bed to calm her down. She was kicking her feet, and ah, she gave me a hard kick in the balls" Ross said.
"Ross, I'm so sorry." Vic said.
"I left, went back to the apartment to get clothes this morning, and I'm staying at the Plaza for the time being. She started texting me, but I told her to leave me alone because I must leave my phone on 24-7 especially if my father needs me. I dont know if this is the end between Kayley and I, or just a very, very serious bump in the road. I could see Kayley going ballistic when I cheated with Alicia. It was a mistake, but I knew what I was doing. This was money. Even though it is a lot of money, I dont think its worth the reaction that Kayley had. I would like the think that the kick in the balls was an accident. She says it was. Yet, I feel like I have lost all trust in her. Worse than when I came home and found her cheating with the female bi sexual teacher" Ross said.
"I'm stunned Ross. I dont know what to say" Vic said.
"For once, mighty Ross C does not know what direction to go in, or what to do. I could run away and make a meeting with Fritz and Steve, but I know that I'm not in the frame of mind to do that. Plus, the area she kicked me in hurts, and I want to stay in New York in case I have to see Doctors. Part of me wants to go home and scream at Kayley and watch her have a crying fit begging me to take her back and forgive her, but I'm afraid of what will happen if I do that considering what happened last night" Ross said.
"Ross, if I may. I think you should stay in New York, and stay away from Kayley until you both calm down. I do not think you should be around each other at this point. A week, two weeks, I dont know. Tell her that you need to think, and that you think she should be alone. Unless she does something like file for divorce, just come into work as much as you can, do what you can, and besides that, calm down and take care of yourself, and dont do anything" Vic said.
"I highly doubt that she will file for divorce. She was apologizing even last night. Kayley knows that she was at fault and that her reaction was overly violent. It is not like I cheated on her or left her with no money or no food to eat. I personally think that both of us are so stunned and upset that nothing will be done. Thanks, Vic. You are a gentleman and a great friend" Ross said.
"I'm here for you anytime, Ross" Vic said.
Ross called Tim on Tim's cell phone. Tim answered.
"Tim, have I got a story to tell you. Last night I come home from the office. Kayley handed me an envelope . When I read what was inside, an old deal I had been involved in, that I have to look back and see the details on, went bad to the tune of 100 million. I am on the hook for many millions, but that is nothing compared to what else happened. Kayley just lost it. She started literally pounding me with her fists and screaming her head off. I took her to the bedroom and tried to hold her down to calm her down so we could talk calmly. Kayley was kicking her feet, hard, and let's just say that one of those hard kicks landed right on Yours Truly's balls!" Ross said.
"Ouch! I am so sorry. You dont think it was intentional?" Tim said.
"Well, she could say that I started it by holding her down, but Kayley was already hitting me with her fists. I did not hit her back, because as you know I'm about seven inches taller, and sixty pounds heavier than she is. I did not want to hurt her, plus, I also did not want to hit her, it would have been wrong, as angry and upset as I was at what she did" Ross said.
"What are you going to do?" Tim asked.
"I went to the Plaza, got a room, and I'm staying there. Kayley started texting me, but I told her to leave me the Hell alone, because I need to leave my phone on 24-7, in case my Dad ever needs me. I told her that if she did not stop bothering me, the next place I am going is to a lawyer" Ross said.
"I personally think that the two of you should just stay away from each other, calm down and give it time, whether that is a week, two weeks, a month, whatever. Dont do anything rash. I doubt she would file for divorce. I think Kayley is so stunned by what she did that she just wants to sit" Tim said.

"Let's have lunch tomorrow" Tim said.

Ross called her. "Stop being melodramatic. Would you like me to show people these texts so I can have you signed into a mental hospital for evaluation? First you kick your husband in the balls, and now you're threatening to kill yourself" Ross said.
"I told you, the kick in the balls, was an accident! In twenty six years I would never hurt you. If you're going to divorce me, let's just do it, so I can get the suffering over with!" Kayley said.
"I never said I'm divorcing you. I feel, hurt, in my balls, and my heart. I feel like I cant trust you anymore. Had I cheated with Alicia again or another woman, maybe I could see your reaction. I would not have liked if you kicked me in the balls, but I could see it. This is a bad deal, Kayley, money. You watched your husband lose RossShell to his worst enemy, start another smaller company, and then get my beloved company back. The only thing that I love more in the world than you and my Dad is RossShell" Ross said.
"What do you want to do?" Kayley said.
"I think I'm going to stay in the hotel for up to a week, calm down, check out, bring the clothes home, and maybe go to OKC for up to a week. I cant see us being with each other anytime really soon. We both need to seriously calm down. I'm truly fearful of what will happen if we are in the same room together, and one of us says something that the other does not like. I would say, give me, two weeks to a month. Let me work here the next few days, make a trip to OKC, I will check out of the hotel, drop clothes off, and go for up to a week. When I get home, I will have a better idea" Ross said.
Kayley sighed. "I dont like it. I really want to see you, but I know that after what I did, I hurt you in more ways that I could imagine way beyond what I did to your balls. Okay, you run the show. You tell me what you want, and I will honor your wishes"
"They are not my wishes, Kayley. I wish I was with you, doing something, and holding you close like I always do. Its just that right now, I feel I cant. Do you understand that?" Ross asked.
"Yes I do" Kayley said.
"Give me a few days. I will let you know when I want to be in the apartment so you can arrange not to be there. After that I think OKC for up to a week is the best thing for me. I will be out of New York, out of the office, and can focus on what I love to do business wise. Maybe when I come home I will be really calmed down so I can think more clearly, and figure it " Ross said.
"Okay, if you need me, I am always here" Kayley said.
Ross sighed. "The same goes for me, teacher. I feel like I still love you. I always have, and I always will. You just dont throw twenty six years of that away because of one terrible incident. I just feel like I cannot be with you right now " Ross said.
"When you do want to be with me, and if you need me, let me know" Kayley said.
"I will" Ross said as he hung up.
The couple had a civil conversation.
What would really happen? What did Ross and Kayley really feel, and want to do, after the shocking incident, over what amounted to a very bad business deal, and probably, Kayley being fed up with Ross's actions in business, that caused to her to way too far over the edge?
