The Good Guys headed off on their next road trip, this time to Washington, Philadelphia, and Cincinnatti. They won two of three in Washington, while losing two of three in both Philadelphia, and Cincinnatti. They returned home on a Sunday night, having completed the first segment of their schedule, ready again to take on the teams they had played in the first week of the season.
On Sunday night, the team arrived home early enough for Mitch to take Naomi and his family out to dinner. The family went to Mitch's favorite chinese buffet, the Bejing Palace, in Paradise Island. Mitch, who always had to watch his weight, due to his blood pressure issues, usually let himself go when he ate at the Beijing, consuming an enormous amount of food. The owner knew Naomi and Mitch well, as the couple, or at least Mitch himself, ate there every week for either lunch or dinner when the team was home.
The next morning, when Mitch awoke, he felt awful, as he was hit with a severe stomach problem, where he just could not feel better. He wanted to at least be at the park that night , when the Good Guys opened a series against his favorite team to beat, the Mets. However, circumstances would not permit it, and Naomi had to go to the park alone that night, as Mitch stayed home, and watched on TV, as Kate Hudson combined with Naomi and Duff, to blank the Mets, 3-0, in front of a sellout crowd. The next day, when Mitch got up, he sheepishly made his way into the kitchen:" How you feeling, roommate?" Naomi asked with a kiss. "Okay, I really feel nothing. Whatever the hell happened was either something I ate, or maybe a 24 hour virus, but I feel better now. Assuming nothing unforseen happens, I'm going to try and play tonight" Mitch said. That day, with no further problems, Mitch spent time resting, and then went with Naomi to the park, for that night's game. Lee Sniderman was a bit surprised when he saw Mitch enter the clubhouse:" You feeling better, star right fielder? You gonna play tonight?" Lee asked. "Yep, I'm fine, put me in there. Whatever it was seems to have passed." Mitch replied. When Mitch went on to the field, to take some practice swings, the Mets were milling around. Tom Glavine shouted at Mitch:" Hey, Mitch, what happened last night, too much chinese food at the buffet?" Glavine needled. "Hey, Tom, maybe this is a virus, and maybe I still have it, and if I do, why dont you come here, so I can give it to you, buddy!" Mitch said, by way of commiseration. The game started, and Mitch did hit a solo homer, off Glavine, ironically. However, the Mets pitcher got the last laugh, as the Good Guys got little else, falling that night by a 4-1 score. Charlize Theron pitched the next night, as the Good Guys got back into the win column. Charlize allowed two runs over eight innings. The bullpen caused some problems in the ninth, but Hilary Duff struck out the last batter with the bases loaded, to earn the save, as the Good Guys came away with a 6-2 win.
Thursday was an off day. Mitch felt very tired, so he spent a lot of the day in bed sleeping, and making love with Naomi. The couple did manage to have lunch out, and make an appearance at the casino, to meet up with their teammates and friends.
Atlanta came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was on the mound. She pitched seven innings of two run ball, as the Good Guys hit three homers, the last in the seventh, in a 2-2 tie, to come away with a 5-2 win. The fifth starter got hammered for eight runs in one inning on Saturday night, as the team fell, 8-1. Kate Hudson opposed John Smoltz, on a beautiful Sunday, in front of a sellout. Both pitchers were at their best that day. Kate fired eight innings of one run ball, and Smoltz was pitching a shutout. The Good Guys trailed 1-0, in the eighth, when Smoltz convinced his manager to keep him in the game. It would be a decision Braves manager Bobby Cox would later regret. With one on, and two out in the eighth, Mitch came up, and drilled a Smoltz fastball, 400 feet over the center field wall, for a two run homer, that would be the winning hit, in a 2-1 Good Guy win, saved by Duff, after Kate had pitched eight excellent innings, and struck out ten Braves.
The Astros entered Paradise on Monday night. Gil Bellows was on the hill, and he was masterful that night, after the loss of the week before, as he pitched seven plus innings of one run ball, striking out nine, in an eventual 4-1 Good Guy win. Charlize Theron took the hill on Tuesday night. She was sailing right along, until an eighth inning error, with the Good Guys leading 2-0, opened the floodgates, as the team ended up allowing seven runs in the eighth inning, in an eventual 7-2 defeat. Neve Campbell took the mound on a clear, bright, Wednesday in front of a sellout, in the last game of the homestand. Neve pitched seven innings of one run ball, matched up with the Astros' Roger Clemens. The Good Guys again trailed 1-0, in the seventh, when lightning struck again, as Mitch hit a two run homer in that inning, to give the team the lead, and then, they padded their lead in the eighth, getting two more runs, as Naomi, subbing for an ill Hilary Duff, saved the day in the ninth, as the Paradise Islanders capped the homestand, with a fine 4-1 triumph, that completed a six and three homestand. Both the Good Guys themselves, and manager Sniderman, were most pleased about the team's fine play on that homestand, considering the rocky times the last time the Good Guys were at home. Now, the Paradise Islanders were packing their bags for New York, Atlanta, and Houston, without any extracirricular thoughts, or poor play, on their minds.
Mitch and Naomi had been getting along well during that homestand, making love, tickling, seeing their therapist. On that Wednesday night, when they got into bed, Naomi made a confession to Mitch:" Sometimes, when we fight, especially if you're on the road, I don't sleep. I just lie in bed, awake, and cry til' dawn" Naomi said. Mitch held Naomi and kissed her:" It hit me in the gut when you said that. So, I'll tell you what, let's not fight then, let's just love, make love, have sex, and be that way, forever. I hate when I make you cry" Mitch replied.
In the meantime, the team held it Saturday night tickle party. That week, the Weather Channel had a crew in Nassau, covering the climate of the island, and the Good Guys. The featured lee, would be the mega cute travel analyst for the station, Jen Carfagno, a light brown haired beauty. She stripped to a bra and panties, and was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club. Catcher Barney began the tickle on Jen's neck with fingers, as Jen's head shifted from side to side, and the giggles began:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! NO! Moving down, second baseman Russell was next, attacking Jen under her arms, as she buckled, and her arms flailed a bit, as much as the bounds would allow:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHE! NOOOOOOOOO! Third baseman Michael then joined in, tickling the cute travel analyst on her sides, ribs, and belly, counting her ribs, as more girlish squeals erupted:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! THAT TICKLES! NOOOOOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Center Fielder Ed Burns was the next ler, attacking Jen on her hips, inner thighs, and behind her knees, causing her legs to buck. Finally, Mitch was last, zeroing in on his favorite tickle spot, the soles of Jen's soft feet. Mitch attacked Jen's feet with his fingers, two large feathers, which he used on her soles, and sawed under and inbetween , her ten toes. He also used an electric toothbrush, vibrating electric massager, and even his tounge, on her soft soles and toes. Jen went ballistic, wiggling her toes every which way, and squealing with uncontrollable, high pitched, girlish laughter, begging for mercy:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! PLEASE NO MORE TICKLE! IAM SO TICKLISH! I CANT STAND IT! I GIVE UP! NO PLEASE NO MORE NOOOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, the tickle stopped, and the exhausted, beautiful, meterologist was untied.
On Thursday night, as she always did, Naomi drove Mitch to Nassau International Airport to catch the team flight to New York. "Don't spend too much money up there, or get hit in the head by any flying deebrie from the Mets fans. You know they hate both us, and the Atlanta Braves" Naomi said. "You will probably spend more money at the mall while I'm gone, then I will on the whole trip. We get meal money, as you know, and while things are expensive up there, I know what to do, so you just watch it, Australian spendthrift" Mitch said, kissing Naomi, and getting out of the car, to head into the terminal, toward the plane.
So, after a rough first day, it had been a fine homestand for Mitch and the Good Guys, who were now headed on the road trip, which would begin in not one of their favorite places, the Big Apple. The team, however, was doing well in the standings, and all was moving along. What would happen next? Stay tuned for the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.
