OCD and Fetishes?

I have CDO. It's just like OCD, but the letters are in the correct order, like they should be.

Being honest, though, I have aspects of OCD behavior, and have been accused of being OCD by those unfamiliar with what OCD really is. Perhaps if there were a study showing correlation between the two, we could begin to talk about causation.

Wow this is interesting. I suffer from quite a strong OCD which affects my daily life. Maybe there is something about this OCD-Fetish thing? But how do they relate to eachother?

Getting some really interesting ideas and views here. I have no idea how they would relate, or even how the friend-of-a-friend managed to string the two ideas together. I also have mild tourettes syndrome, which fits fairly hand-in-hand with OCD, with compulsions and obsessions to twitch part of my body, or count objects for no reason. I count steps and parking machines, or how many colours or letters are in banners and posters. If I dont, I get stressed and have a nagging voice in my head that won't go away untill I complete the task.

I twitch too! I call it flexing though. I think it has something to do with balancing out my body halves, but I couldn't really say...just have to do it.

I think there could be a lot of reasons why they might correlate. As I mentioned before, people often have more than one Axis 1 disorders that co-exist. So, it might be interesting to note anyone else here with a history of ANY Axis 1 disorder, such as the various anxiety disorders or depression. Most of these disorders exist (at least in part) to brain chemistry. I would believe it's possible that the same neurotransmitter "abnormalities" that affect OCD, anxiety, and depression, also act on fetishism. I also used to sleepwalk when I was younger, which can often happen with the presence of other disorders. But I digress.....This is an interesting thread. I'm glad you brought it up.
