Nah, I don't think it's that weird. Half of my male friends had crushes on Chun Li and Lara Croft.
I don't remember Lucy Mitchell very well, but I do remember Jessica. She was a fox.
I think Donna Air was the only one from Byker Grove who I liked, but there were many crushes from TV and Film, and i've never seen it as abnormal - in fact, i'd say it's abnormal not to have a crush on a fictional character when you're young. I started with Penny from Inspector Gadget and Alice in the Disney film, but they were just the tip of the iceberg - There were several characters from live and animated shows.
It's pretty normal, and even now at the pub or house parties i've found it doesn't take too many beers for the Jessica Rabbit conversation to begin.
Okay, perhaps 5-6 pints. I tend to prefer that to the usual, 'do you remember Captain Planet?' conversation... and even then I fancied Linka, the blonde Russian girl.
Hopeless.
May I add a couple more: Gloria from MASK was very nice, Maxie from Maxie's World (I know it was aimed at girls - that's why she was hot!), Cheetara (everybody's second favourite Thunderian; Panthero was clearly the best) Nina Williams of Tekken, and, err... Gadget from Rescue Rangers had something about her, even if she was... a... uh, mouse.
By the way - Hannah Martin from Neighbours. Never heard or read that name as anyone's list of crushes, although she was quite sweet. The show was a hotbed of blonde Aussie totty; Annalise, Phoebe Gottileb, Lauren Carpenter, Libby Kennedy, Dee Bliss, Flick Scully and Izzy Hoyland. Good lord I wish I'd gone to Erinsborough high, even if I'd been stamped into the mud for being an uppity Pom by some hulking great Bogan.
