I've never seen a Sonic or a Waffle House, either. However, they do air Sonic commercials occasionally in Baltimore. Apparently we do have a few of each, but according to a quick internet search, they're all out to the far east of Maryland. I'm talking Ocean City territory, which is close to Delaware. For that matter, they've also got, like, 5 Hardees burger joints out east as well. Meanwhile, there's only one that I know of in Baltimore. This city is deprived.

Stories like this are the rule, not the exception, in the city by me.

Saskatoon (the closest city) has one of the most incompetent, lazy, and unprofessional police forces in the entire country. To see an incident like the aforementioned is very common.

Like five police officer arresting one man who is so drunk that he can't even stand. I personally watched this procedure take over two and a half hours.

Or the famed incident where a man killed two RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police-or Mounties to you Americans) officers. The police forces from both the province and the city did a 25 kilometer sweep of the area he was hiding in with over 250 police officials helping out. It later turned out that he was hidden in a haystack and the only reason he was caught was because he went to a nearby farm to use the bathroom. The residents calmly sat him down after and convinced him to turn himself in to the local police.

The response from the cheif co-ordinator was pathetically laughable after it was over and the man was..."Apprehended"...

"It (the search) turned out exactly as we hoped it would. Quietly and without bloodshed."

Look on the bright side: At least your government isn't giving away all of its natural resources to the U.S. Republicans just because they asked your politicians to do so.

The proceedure is simple: We each count how many SUV's have the "Support the troops" yellow ribbon on their rear window.

The country that wins will be declared the most gutless and brainwashed...An extremist moniker, to be sure, but I have all confidence that Canada will win this one.

Helping the troops through a difficult time when they are forced to fight against their will for the sake of oil, money, and power is one thing, but encouraging ignorant people to inadvertantly support the war for the above reasons is something entirely different.

If we live in a truely free democracy, then why haven't we seen the "Bring the troops home" ribbon?
