Did I mention I have a chinese friend with a geunine belt-fed machine gun from WWII? Or a twelve-shot semi automatic shotgun? HA! My pathetic attempts to become most dangerous Theatergoer have succeeded!

Well no...that makes your friend the most dangerous friend of a theatergoer though!
You're still a button faced little puppy dog! 😀

No, HE has the belt-fed monster, I have the shotgun. Along with about 50 other firearms. Well, they are really my dad's, but I can use them.😛

Try and avoid blowing your - or somebody's else - head off...

The most impressive i saw are bullets used in a Kalachnikov gun -and the gun itself :wooha: quite scary !!

Aw, AK47. 7.62 Soviet bullets pack quite a punch.

Still widespread, AK47s are getting somewhat rarer, since the inception of their smaller brothers, AK74s, chambered for caliber 5.45.

Actually better at tumbling than 5.56 Nato bullets, 5.45s pack a nasty sting.

It goes technical 😀. Are you saying that AK's are rare to find ??

Sheesh, I should have a special forum dedicated to threads like these where the original topic is completely buried and forgotten... 🙂

Well... HDS's old nick is buried and [almost] forgotten too... 🙂

It's just reminded here 🙂 - as the thread starter - RIP LOL

the SPAM forum...??

-> Alf.

Actually, AKs are very common. Many were produced in Sovietic Union. Many more in sovietic and independent countries.

Sure, now most western countries are turning to nato arms. Yet, AKs sell well, have a great record for reliability, and ammos are readily available from army surplus.

They are somewhat widespread even in US!
I think Poland doesn't employ them anymore. But some asian country still do.

...

And to stay on topic... Oh... poor HDS... 😉 😉 😉

Those i saw were in Poland actually - they were almost all produced in USSR 😀 - old name of curse - Some say that it is the best available.
Poor His Defiant Shadow LOL

I think, somehow, that we NEVER stay on topic... We're bad. 😛

As it seem, soviet AKs were quite sturdy: they were gas operated like later M16s, but required much less care.

They could fire without jamming even in sandy environment.

The were somewhat lacking in precision: sights were minimal; aim not too precise.

Different phylosophy.

Oh poor HDS.

Are you a gun/swords/bones collector Kalamos ??
- that poor His Different Singer - :sigh: 🙂 🙂

Actually yes... I get to see bones too.

And no, I'm not medic... 😀

Oh, poor His Dutiful Stinker.

Ahh but you would run into a big problem there, TT! You see...if every thread was to stay on topic in the "off topic" forum the very fact that it was an "off topic" forum would force every thread to be OFF topic.
And being OFF topic in an "off topic" forum they would then be ON topic. But the whole point of the off topic forum would be so threads could be OFF topic!
This would thusly create a paradox that would cause the earth to spin out of orbit and eventually the entire universe would collapse on itself.
So be careful, TT! You dont want to mess with stuff like that!

Well actually I have seen other forums do something of the like, whenever there is a "memorable" thread they put it into a special forum of its own.

LOL...the anime chick thread is nothing if not memorable 😛

... I think we should make a locked thread with links to our posted pics.

That way we could go off topic as much as we feel like - and move the thread to a more suitable forum - without losing our pics.

Besides, I've been asked to repost my older pics... since I've posted so little, it doesn't matter yet.

But you Ness have done quite a lot of pics. It would be nice to have them all together and easily accessible.

...

Just an idea.

Reg's.

That's not a bad idea, K. This way the off topic threads could stay off topic 🙂 but the pictures themselves could still be accessed easily via links in a dedicated foum if TT still wants to give me one.

Sure.

Dedicated forum help highlighting pics, but since they are separated from the main forum, it's a bit hard to just chat freely.

This way you [we] would get the best of the two worlds.
