So I'm waiting in line in the express lane at the supermarket, when I should glance up at the shopper in front of me. And what should I see? Young girl, appearing to be anywhere from 18 to her early 20s, behind a shopping cart. I notice she has a small child in the cart. Know what else? She has twelve items in her cart (not counting the kid or course) when the huge sign above says TEN ITEMS OR LESS. Makes you wonder where she learned to count, doesn't it? End mini rant. Just had to share.

I’ve had similar experiences where the item count was infuriatingly as high as seventeen. But not being one to let that level of indignation slide unchallenged, I instinctively proceed to inform the shopper, the checkout clerk, the shift manager, and anyone else in the general vicinity that I am sorely disappointed.

OK I'm guilty of that as well lol. I mean honestly if I have 12 items and I see the ten items or less line vs the regular checkout line where there are carts behind carts of people. I for one am not going to waste several minutes of my life on a super long line to check out 12 items when I could have only wasted three minutes on the ten items or less line lol. Hey if the cashier doesn't mind neither do I 🙂.
