HallKogan presents:
A Suikoden production:

It didn’t take long for Seven’s Deadly Sins to finish mopping up all the rats in the Demonio compound. But the snake was a different story, none of them were able to find El Piton. They had made a dangerous enemy today, and it was a given that he would be seeking revenge. But that was a concern for another day.

Before the team made its final exit, a set of expertly set explosions was placed around the outer wall. “I wanna make sure he knows we’re onto him now, and we’re not fucking around.” Johnson said, once the massive Blackhawk was at a safe distance away.

The fact that any possible debris or shockwaves wouldn’t reach their ride didn’t stop the sound of the explosive bursts from reaching their ears. Once the realization that it was all over washed over them they finally began to relax.

“Did anybody bring any protein bars?” Angie asked, “I’m starving.”

Kim reached into a cooler and handed her a couple, and a bottle of water. “You mean this asshole didn’t feed you?” Everyone glared at Sexton. Especially Gato, who started to move from his seat. Sam grabbed his arm.

“Don’t.” She said, holding his attention with those icy blue eyes.

“I thought you would appreciate me breaking his chingada puerco nose.” Gato said, meeting her gaze.

Sexton woke during this exchange and heard that last part and quivered. It didn’t escape Sam’s notice.

“If I did, I would have already. He’s got worse than that coming. I’d rather let him think about what.”

“My pardon Sam, and to you Señor Sexton. Would you like some lunch?” Gato asked, surprising not only Sam but everyone with his offer.

Sexton nodded, but not before he had about a thousand thoughts flash through his mind on what awaited him.

Sam released her grip on Gato’s shoulder, and he stood up. He reached into the cooler that the power bars and water came from and pulled out the apple. Gato tossed it in the air with a spin, caught it, and crammed it in Hugo’s mouth. It got an uproarious laughter from everyone.

“A pig with an apple in his mouth. We’ve got a Kodak moment here.” Johnson said.

Sam felt herself beginning to blush, as he sat down next to her. She turned away before Gato could notice. It did not escape the notice of her best friend however. Who was finishing her third peanut butter chocolate chip protein bar. She looked at Sam, then looked at Gato, she didn’t need spy training to figure out what was going on here. Angie opened her mouth to speak, but a pleading “don’t you dare” look from Sam silenced her.

Sam closed her eyes for a moment and started to collect herself.

“What Gato just did was your basic schoolyard heroics. Bully picks on girl, another boy swoops in and says leave her alone, girl swoons and kisses him on the cheek.” Sam said letting out a sigh.

“I’m a grown woman. I don’t need a guy to rescue me. Or to threaten someone to leave me alone. Or...” She was shouting in her own head.

“Or always be there for you? Or lay down his life to protect you? Or love you?” She heard another voice in her head. It was her voice. “What’s wrong with having someone special?”

“No, I... I can’t. We still don’t know El Demonio is. El Piton is in the wind. And even if there wasn’t this to deal with, there’s a seemingly never ending supply of bad guys out there who need to be stopped.” Sam shouted back at herself.

“Like that old tv show with Adam West and Burt Ward? SOCK! POW! ZOK!” Storm said, making punching motions in the air. “You do realize that even Batman had Robin and Batgirl right?”

“I liked Wonder Woman better.” Sam volleyed back at her, folding her arms and adding a “hmph”.

“And even she had Steve Trevor. Don’t bother arguing with me Samantha Storm. I’m your best friend remember, I know you better than anyone.” Storm retorted, in that pesky little sister way.

“I don’t need him okay!?” Sam shouted at herself again.

“If that’s true, why did you lay your head on his shoulder and fall asleep?” Storm giggled, and faded away as she woke up.

As Sam’s eyes fluttered open, she realized that she indeed laid her head on Tomas’s shoulder. He was leaning back against the wall of the ‘copter, asleep himself.

Angie was curled up across the bench across from them snoring away. Kim was sitting with a gun trained on Sexton, considering putting a bullet in him. But he was needed alive for interrogation.

Johnson looked at Angie, then Sam and Gato. “Well one of my sleeping beauties is awake, should I send these pictures I took to Fox? They’re really cute.”

Sam stretched her arms over her head. “Only if you want a broken nose.” Sam answered, with a look and older sister might give her bratty brother.

Sam briefed Johnson on her plans for the evening. In the middle of it Gato woke up himself and suggested a nice town on the coast where they could go for their date.

Before they parted company, Sam used her sat/watch to set Angie up with her personal massage therapist. “Take the weekend off Angie, you earned it. We’ll give our report to Fox on Monday.”

“Have fun on your date.” Angie grinned, and looked past her at Gato who waited a respectable distance away. She purred playfully while looking him over. “If you want to back out...”

“Go.” Sam said, giving her a little push back toward the Blackhawk.

Thankfully they brought along their bikes from the pickup outside El Rey. It would make getting around much easier.

“It’s still early afternoon Sam, what would you like to do?” Gato offered, sitting on his bike helmet in hand.

“I’m going to take the afternoon to get myself in order. Dinner about 6?” Sam said, picking up her own helmet.

“Si, I know the perfect place. It’s called Pancho’s near the beach. Do you think you can find it?”

“I’ll manage. See you then.” Sam said, donning her helmet and heading toward town.

Gato sighed, “GPS always takes you the fastest route, not the most scenic.” He secured his helmet and sped into town his way.

His father taught him to always be prepared, which made sense considering he was an Eagle Scout. His mother taught him practical domestic things. Which is why Tomas Antúnez always carried at least one spare set of clothes in whatever vehicle he was traveling in.

“Suppose you’re a complete mess, and you see a beautiful young lady you’d like to ask out to dinner. Do you think she wants a haragán?”

“Yes Mama.” Tomas replied.

He smiled inside that helmet, determined to give Samantha Storm the most romantic evening of her life.

He found a modest beachside hotel, and rented a room with two twin beds. He didn’t want to presume she’d sleep with him. And he wouldn’t suggest it either.

He grabbed the saddle bags off his bike and relaxed in his room for a few minutes before taking a shower. Once he was finished, he opened the tightly sealed plastic bags which contained clean clothes and laid them out to change into later.

Thinking ahead, he called Pancho’s and made a reservation for two at 6 o’clock. He thought it wise to get some sleep as well. He’d just fallen asleep on Section Seven’s Blackhawk when Samantha woke back up.

He set his alarm for an hour, and laid back on the bed dreaming of her head on his shoulder.

Meanwhile Samantha maneuvered her Ducati through the streets with surgical precision. The first thing on her checklist was a change of clothes. Then a place to fix herself up a bit. Luckily she carried a few personal items in a storage compartment in her bike. You never know when you might have to turn on the charm and seduce a target.

Thanks to a charming clothes shop she was able to buy a comfortable long sleeved white shirt, and blue jeans. She’d also found a eye catching black leather belt. The owner touted that all the clothes were hand made. Sam was impressed, they were indistinguishable from designer clothes she’d found back home. Her trademark lightning bolt belt buckle would complete the look nicely.

A couple blocks away was a health club where she was able to relax with a eucalyptus sauna. After showering, changing and a quick fix of her hair and makeup, Sam had time to meet Gato at Pancho’s for dinner.

Unbeknownst to Samantha, Tomas had inherited his father’s ‘80s dress style. Blue jeans, with a white t shirt tucked in neatly, and a black long sleeved shirt over top. He left it unbuttoned, and pushed the sleeves up to his elbows.

He was waiting outside Pancho’s, sitting cooly on his bike. As Sam walked toward him, he stood up and walked toward her. She was greeted with a bow, and a gentle kiss to her hand. “You look beautiful Sam, ready for a wonderful evening?”

She didn’t hide her blush this time. “Ready when you are Tomas.” He walked beside her, and opened the door. Their table was ready immediately. He pulled the chair out for her, and scooted her in.

As they browsed the menu, Sam asked. “So you’ve been here before. Favorite place to bring dates?”

“Actually it’s become a second home to me. I helped break up a drug ring that had a stranglehold on the town. I like to visit now and then.” He answered, and took a bite from a homemade corn chip. “Try the queso, it’s bueno!”

Sam was still a bit skeptical. How much of his womanizing reputation was just his cover? She tried one of the chips, it was a far cry from the “authentic Mexican” food she had back home. They settled on chicken tacos with guacamole.

A mariachi band began to play. “It’ll be a few minutes before our food is ready. Would you care to dance?”

Before Sam could protest, Tomas had gently pulled her to her feet. She cooperated, and laughed as he spun her onto the dance floor. The two of them began moving to the music, and it had an infectious effect on the rest of the diners. A few couples got up to join them, the rest clapped along in their seats. After the song was over, he bowed to Sam and the got a round of applause from the room. By the time they got back to their table, the food was coming.

Samantha couldn’t keep the smile from her face. She was having fun, and started to relax and let her guard down. It was nice to have a chance to relax, and get to know someone outside of a confidential file or interrogation session.

“It’s not often I’m around a man this long and he hasn’t tied me to something.” Sam told him, before taking the first bite of food.

“I don’t think that would be appropriate here, perhaps later.” Tomas joked, and picked up a taco.

“At least you’re buying me dinner first.” Sam said, not missing a beat. This verbal sparring was fun.

“All kidding aside,” Tomas paused and took on a more serious tone. “I’m aware of the nickname Sexton had earned. Los cosquillas. He was tickling you?”

Samantha sighed, and nodded. “And it’s not the first time it’s happened either. Ever since word got around that I’m ticklish everyone tries to use it to break me. It hasn’t worked yet, and it’s not going to, but they keep trying anyway.”

Gato took a moment and chewed on his bite of food, in a way he was chewing on this information. Then swallowed and nodded as to signify that he understood. “Like your old west, everyone that comes to town looks for the best gunfighter. They want to beat the best.” He said making finger guns.

“I guess you could say that.” Sam smiled, making guns herself. They both laughed, then she had her own question for him.

“Tomas, you could have died on this op. Neither of us knew how close we’d come to this being the last one.” She paused, for a few seconds. “Look I know what you told me in El Rey. But is that the whole story?” Since that initial meeting, she’d had the feeling there was something he wasn’t telling her. If they were going to be friends, she had to know.

“I knew that I couldn’t hide anything from you Sam. But I didn’t have time to tell you then.” He looked at her, and reached out to her, not to hold her hands, but with his palms upward so she could feel his pulse, and feel that he wasn’t lying.

Tomas looked directly into her beautiful blue eyes, not wavering even for a second. She looked back, holding his wrists, his pulse was steady. “Even here in Mexico, I heard about a woman with an intellect, with an unbreakable will, with talent surpassed only by her beauty. It was you Samantha Storm.”

Sam was puzzled, what did he mean by that? Was this all an elaborate gambit by her enemies? Good Lord, was Section Seven compromised? She wanted to grab him, throw him to the floor, and put her boot on his windpipe until he told her the truth. But there was one reason she didn’t.

He was telling the truth.

Sam didn’t know what to say, what could she say? She trusted him enough to put her life on the line, but her heart, that was a different matter. Can she trust him with her heart?

He broke the silence between them. “I understand this is a lot, and I have no right to force an answer from you. Please, let’s finish our dinner.”

Sam reluctantly let go of his wrists, what was wrong with her? Her heart felt like it was melting in her chest. Is this what love felt like? They finished their meal, which was excellent. He ordered churros for dessert, which was even better than dinner. They continued back and forth with witty banter, which became increasingly flirty.

After dinner they headed down to the beach, enjoying the golden sunset as they walked. To Sam’s surprise, she was holding his hand. They stopped and removed their boots and walked together, this time holding his hand was no accident.

The warm sand felt good under Sam’s feet. After the long trek through the jungle that morning, this was like a massage.

“Tomas, I’ve been thinking about what you said.” She took a deep breath and tried to relax. Facing Piton and Sexton didn’t make her this nervous. “My cousin just got engaged...” He wanted to offer his congratulations, but let her continue.

“She’s only 20, and he’s not exactly James Bond, but he’s a great guy. He loves her, she loves him. I...” She paused again, a hint of regret in her voice, and sat down in the sand. He sat beside her, and listened.

“I’m happy for them. But it made me think. I live my life on the edge. Every mission I go on could be the one I don’t come back from. Today was as close as I’d ever come. I have friends, and a life outside the job, but I’ve never had time for love.”

He pulled her into a hug, she didn’t fight it, in fact she put her arms around him. He felt like an anchor, it was comforting. She never told anyone this, and perhaps even denied it to herself.

“I just want someone to love me, to hold me... but as long as there’s scumbags like Demonio out there that need to be stopped, people like me have to keep doing what we’re doing.” Sam said, hot tears rolled down her cheeks.

Tomas ran his hand through her hair. “People like us... the world will go on after our time on it has ended. It can go on without us for one night.” Sam lifted her head to look at him.

“Someday, maybe when all this is over, will you still be there?” Sam asked.

“I’ll wait as long as it takes.” He said, wiping her tears away. Nothing else needed to be said, it was all there as they lay together in the sand, holding each other like lovers in the twilight. The gentle sound of the surf washing up onto the shore was so calming. Tomas rolled onto his back, Sam laid her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. It was a quiet perfect moment.

They decided it would be best to head to the hotel before it got too dark. It took little time for them to get back to their bikes. He led the way, with Sam occasionally revving her engine and running up beside him, playing.

As they neared the hotel, what she said earlier about being ticklish, and they way she spoke out it happening over and over made him think she didn’t exactly hate it.
The thought brought that roguish grin back to his face.

As they stepped into the room, Sam pushed him against the door, and met him with a long kiss. Apparently she’d intended to finish what they started on the beach.

He slid his arms around her, and she squirmed a little. “Really?” she said. A roguish grin of her own.

“What can I say? You piqued my curiosity.” He raised his eyebrows, and curled his fingers into guns by his hips.

Sam took a step back, and did the same. It wasn’t high noon, but there was going to be something exciting in a few seconds.

“Alright partner, draw!” Sam said. Tomas moved more quickly than she thought and went straight for the sides of her stomach.

“Oh nooohahahahahahaha!” She laughed, and took a step backward, gripping his wrists, he followed still tickling her. Sam used his momentum and flipped him up over her head, sending him crashing onto the mattress.

“Ay, mierda!” He shouted in midair. Before he could move, she pounced on him. “Your move Señor Gato.” Sam said, pinning his arms over his head.

He responded by locking his legs together around her waist. It wasn’t nearly enough to hurt, but she was stuck. As she threw herself backward her plan was to twist her body, and slip free. But his hands came up and found her exposed midriff.

“Ahh! Hahahaha!” Sam giggled.

“En guardia Señorita Storm.” Gato said, continuing to tickle her stomach.

This was a lot different from being tied down and tortured, she move, and fight back. Thinking quickly, she drove her hands into his armpits, wiggling her fingers.

“Oh Dios mío!” Gato laughed, obviously not used to this tactic.

“See how effective that can be? Imagine that non stop.” Sam looked at him, she stopped tickling, and slowly raked her nails down his chest.

“And if someone were to do this... gently?” He said, softly tracing her belly button over her shirt.

She let out a gasp, there was a growing electricity between them that was almost a physical presence. Sam looked at the twin bed. “I don’t think there’s enough room to really play.”

They had the same idea, she hopped up, and he rolled off. A moment later, and some quick but precise furniture moving the beds were together.

He lifted her up in his arms, and pressed his lips to hers passionately. She kissed back with such force it would have torn his head off if he were a lesser man.

Tomas laid her gently on the bed, they were still kissing furiously. With one hand he undid her belt buckle, Sam took the cue and lifted her hips as it pulled freely through the loops in her jeans. He looped it around her wrists, and tied them to the headboard frame.

“Why is it every time a man gets me alone, I get tied up?” Sam said sarcastically.

“I have a feeling you could get loose anytime you want to.” Tomas said.

“I could...” Sam replied, with an intentional pause.

“But you don’t want to...” Tomas said, slowly unbuttoning her shirt, pushing it up under her, a round her wrists. He brought his hands down her arms slowly, a soft caress with a gentle tickle.

“Mmhmhmhmhmhmhmmm...” A sultry purring laughter rumbled from inside Samantha. This kind of tickling was different. He wasn’t trying to break her, or derive some kind of pleasure from her. This was gentle, loving, she was enjoying it.

His hands moved to her underarms, making slow circles with his fingertips at first, then moving faster. “Huh... huh huh... hahahahahahaha.” She squirmed, but didn’t try to throw him off.

She felt his hands move away from her, but kept her eyes closed. He had changed gears, and planted a kiss on her belly button. Sam gasped, expecting a raspberry tickle, but got a kiss. He kept kissing up the middle of her stomach, to her chest, ending between her breasts.

“Mmmmmmm...” Samantha moaned, as he cupped them in his hands. The moan turned into a giggle as he tickled the undersides through the silky seamless black bra.

Her sultry laughter continued as his fingers drummed down her sides. “Hahahahaha Tomas that really tickles.” Sam was moving side to side, not unlike her dance moves from earlier.

“Should I stop?” He asked, punctuating his question with a kiss.

“I never said stop, this feels... good.” Sam said, biting her lip. She never thought tickling could feel sexy.

Tomas leaned in close, kissing the side of her neck, if her hands were free she would have been pulling that tight black shirt off. As he moved to the other side of her neck, his hands slid down her sides, again with a caress, which became more velvety tickling.

“Hehhehhehhehhehheh...” Sam laughed, she’d never been kissed and tickled at the same time before. It was definitely turning her on, and she began to lift her hips.

Sam felt a tug on her jeans next, and kept her hips up in compliance. They easily slid off her smooth legs. He unlaced her boots and pulled her socks off one by one. Taking his time, using a gossamer touch.

Her pulse quickened as he kissed his way from her ankles to her thighs. His lips brushing one leg, as his tickling fingers stimulated the other. The touch was just barely enough to tickle, causing equal
parts purring and giggling to pour from her scarlet lips.

“Mmmmmmmm....hahahahaha.”

Sam heard him breathing faster, and felt the heat from his body on her. She was getting quite warm herself. A gasp followed by another moan as he took her feet in his hands, gently kissing her soft warm soles.

The memories of Sexton’s clumsy tickling and groping faded from her mind as he tickled her arches. The touch was feathery soft, and brought out a husky laugh from Sam.

Tomas climbed up, and deftly freed her wrists from the belt, Sam immediately pulled him down to her, kissing even more furiously than before. The tension between them was at a fever pitch, and came to the apex.

They made love then, it wasn’t just sex. It was passion. The world around them seemed to vanish, and for that night it was just two young lovers named Samantha and Tomas. They fell asleep, exhausted physically and emotionally, and held each other like lovers just like on the beach.

The sun rose the following morning, as beautifully as it went down the night before. Tomas rolled over looking for Sam. And found a note. It was folded, with a lightning bolt drawn on the front. It was scented too, it smelled like her.

Tomas,

Thank you for the most amazing night of my life. We’ll have to do it again soon.

If you ever need me, call. [emoji182]

-Sam

He picked up his phone, and sure enough, there was her number in his contact list. Along with a picture of Sam blowing him a kiss.

A bittersweet feeling washed over him as he got dressed. He hated to see it end, but they had their own lives to get back to. He made some calls before checking out. As he started his bike and headed home, a smile spread across his face.

As soon as Samantha got home, she made sure to put in a call to Fox, confirming her whereabouts for the last few hours. Sam promised a full report on the mission tomorrow.

“Looks like another weekend alone.” Sam sighed. She had that same bittersweet feeling. After making sure the door was locked, she headed into her bedroom to shower and change.

She stopped in her tracks however after catching sight of an adorable stuffed cat sitting on her bed. “How did you get here?” Sam asked picking it up. As she gave it a hug, a tune began to play. The same song they danced to at Pancho’s.

[emoji411] DEDICATIONS [emoji411]

First and foremost God above, for without Him I am nothing.

My wife, for loving me in a way that opened new doors for me as a writer. And for putting up with me as I spend hours tapping away these stories.

My friend Suikoden, who has earned the title of producer, and for letting me add my little part to the legacy of Samantha Storm.

All of you who came before me involved in the creation of such an enduring character.

Last but not least, you dear reader. Yes you, who at this very moment with your clicks, your taps, and a few words of feedback give me the encouragement to keep writing.

Billy & Krista will return.

Fine story! 😀

I would like to see the return of Billy & Krista.

I found myself grinning as I read to the end of this. I enjoyed Samantha and Gato's tickle fight and the growing affection.

She was due a more pleasant evening than she usually gets to experience in most of her adventures.

Thank you so much for contributing to the legacy and giving Samantha a great ally in El Gato.

Hmmm, but El Demonio is still on the loose and El Piton escaped! Dun dun DUNNNN!

Thank you so much my friend. Everyone knows I appreciate the all the feedback I get, but hearing that I got Sam and the rest right (with your guidance) makes me feel more confident about stepping out of my writing comfort zone.

I was honestly concerned that I didn’t finish strong with this one, and that my romantic style wouldn’t be a good fit. But judging by the response I’ve gotten, I’m happy to be wrong.

Now if you all skipped the dedications, go back and read it again, because there’s something for everybody.

Author’s Notes... [emoji404]

I always enjoy these little bits at the end of books, especially in Stephen King’s short story collections. I felt the pull to do this, and I hope at least one other person will as well.

During the scene where Samantha is arguing with herself on the evacuation helicopter, I originally wrote it as an argument with herself. Then I changed it to Angie, then back to the way it is now.

El Gato’s real name Tomas Antúnez has a hidden meaning that I thought anyone who was particularly clever would get a kick out of. If you give up, PM me and I’ll tell you.

Pancho’s is a real place in a Mexican town near a beach. And yes, this town also has a health club where Sam could fix herself up a bit. I did the research because details like this bother me.

If anyone is curious Sam and Gato’s song is Malagueña Salerosa. I recommend the version by Chingon.

One thing that helped me along was picturing this as a movie playing in my head with real people playing the parts.

In particular pictured Alexandra Daddario as Samantha Storm. And Jane Levy as Angela Blaze.
