There were a couple of websites by this guy (I think he was French) that went by the name 'Toucano'. I love this fellow's art. The first site was (or possibly still is, but I'll get to that in a second) called "Maison des chatouilles", and it had lots of his art posted on it. There was another site he did in collaboration with another guy, I think it was called "Tickle Island" or something very similar. I don't have the link for that one anymore, but I still have it for the original site. Problem is, when I try and visit it now, it STARTS to load, but freezes up. Should I take this to mean that the site is dead? Take a peek, maybe it'll work better for someone with a newer machine than mine... good stuff, IMHO.

Dan...I think you're refering to Tucanos Island. That has been gone for some time. All I've seen load in the past three years is the lead page. Now, that is gone as well. Your right. They were cool sites...like so many now gone. 🙁

Ya got it backwards...

Tukano's Island was the original page and Maison des chatouilles was created later on by a friend of his who colored in some of his work. I knew him pretty well, real cheerful guy. The index page does load, (might be a problem on your end) but all it says is that the site is closed for repairs, as it has for a looooong time. I tried using some web archive engines to find the site as it once was but there is no trace of any artwork left, just some empty html files.

Yet another loss to the ravages of time

Alas, poor Tukano... we knew ye well. What a shame. It really was good art. I have a couple of his drawings on my computer that I use as desktops from time to time... I wonder if I'd get slammed for posting them if I shared them here?

I don't know of any request that their material not be shared. Also, it was always freely distributed as far as I know. So, I'd say you're safe as long as proper credit is given.
