Why?

Why do they cost so much? Sigh!!!!!!!!!

I am seriously :banghead: trying to find a hotel around the Boston area that isn't going to zap all the funds I have budgeted for my vacation. Seriously!!!!

I'd rather NOT spend over $150 per night. I'd like to spend more like $100 per night. 😀 I tried Priceline but they sent me an email with HAHAHAHA in the subject line. Maybe I should wait until the last minute when Priceline is as desperate too.

Hotwire wanted like $135 for 2 Star Hotels. Um- NO!

Any ideas?

When do want to go there? This is the busy season for hotels. I feel that with the high gas prices that some people will not vacation this year leaving a lot of empty rooms.

Your best bet is to stay outside of Boston, and visit the city from a suburb.

LOL @ YOUR AREA!

Your area has overpriced hotels.

Alexwarfield and I are on vacation.

Do you have business to attend to in the city? I've always found that staying in the suburbs is least expensive than the city. Also check out the airport motels, if you can stand the sounds of airplanes.

Boston Burbs

Hey Sunrise

As all these nice people have already said, you are visiting a major city during the height of the season, so hotel prices are going to be outrageous.
I've traveled the New England route extensively for a few decades and found that searching the suburb areas for lodging will give you better results.
If you use Expedia and imput Boston and vicinity, you will get more choices.

Bedford, Danvers, Peabody, Weymouth, Lexington etc....Most are 10 - 20'ish miles from downtown Boston and will run somewhere under $100 per night. They may not be the fanciest but it's a room with a bed and bathroom.

It's been a few years since, but I remember fondly the Lord Wakefield Hotel in Wakefield, MA and Candelwood Suites in Burlington were very nice and reasonably clean.

I hope this helps....and remember...Salem is only 26 miles away. :witchy:

Waltham. PM me for specific suggestions, if you like. 🙂
I work in Cambridge and we attend hotel events in the
area, which are rarely in the city itself. There's a great
kink-friendly hotel in Waltham.

I didn't know about the kink hotel but I would suggest Waltham as well, there are plenty of choices right along Rte 128/95 and you have a couple of choices nearby to take the T into the city.

I quite agree you, Now Boston is packed with overpriced hotels. Pretty tough stay there.:lion:

Check the motels by their company name for the Boston area.(ex: Best Western).

Thank you guys SOOO much for all of your suggestions! LOL @ Kink friendly hotels. We did have security called on us the last time we went out.... LOL LOL But I know how loud I am, so good looking out.

I did find a Doubletree that was $100 per night. For some reason the hotels went up $100 dollars more on Monday night, so I am going to move out to Waltham as suggested for the next night.

Y'all ROCK! I knew you would come to my rescue. 😀
