Just came back from a school reunion, as my old school celebrated its 100th birthday today. Our last reunion was 8 years ago (20 years after my graduation), and what has become of my former classmates?!
Of a class of about 30, three are dead, about half of them had cardiac infarctions (including me), and 10 had major surgeries (kidney transplatations, cancer etc). Eight of us are unemployed (also including me). What I've heard of the 3 parallel classes, the statistics are about the same there. And we're all just about 47 (give or take 2 years)!
Not considering our graying (or receding) hair and growing bellies, which just come with age, I've come to the conclusion that my generation is aging and breaking down absolutely too fast!
Makes me depressed, but OTOH it makes me fully aware that I'm not the only one with problems. What a sad world!
