Hi Friends~
Ok, so when I submit, I'm usually either tied down like a "T" or an "X". I've started to notice something weird. No matter how long the scene goes, my legs are always fine after the fact, but my arms often hurt after awhile. I literally have to lay there for a few after I'm untied. Does anyone else have this problem and what did you do about it?
Obviously the goal is to stay "down" as long as possible while staying comfortable as well. Any advice? TIA! :smilelove

I've always had this happen on longer sessions. Of course, the aftercare massage, etc. will help. But, during the scene itself, I'll simply let folks know that I need to loosen or undo one or the other of the cuffs for a bit to give the shoulder a chance to relax a bit. I would imagine that some gentle range of motion exercises prior to a scene might help. But, who wants to spoil the mood by taking time for that? lol

Oh ok Ann, maybe I'm being tied too tight?
I'm initially only concerned with how tight the cuffs are on my wrists and I usually use THAT a guage (sp?) but I'm thinking you might be right. It probably doesn't help that I'm short and trying to stretch the length of the bed, hmmm?
Could be I'm pulling up further than my body wants me to? :ermm:

Fatigue and Muscles

:feets: If my legs are straight up in the air, strapped to a wooden chair, my lower back might become painful if I do not use a pillow on the floor. Also, my arms get a little tired after being tied above my head.
 
oo this is a easy one ,

if your tied to a T frame ....the shoulder muscles *mainly the middle part of the shoulder* is bein flexed so after awhile it will begin to fatiuge , and the fact that your bein tickled and your contracting your abs while you laugh and the fact that your medial deltoid *middle part of the shoulder* is contracted , it will go to failure


the x frame , im guessin its your shoulder again , this time mostly the rear part of your shoulder , and your back comes inot play , and the laughin and squirmin

its not bein tied too tightly , or anythin , its just the endurence of your muscles , so if you have been tickled for say 20 minutes straight take a break so your shoulders get a rest

Position, Position, Position

Hey Steph. Here's something to consider that might help. Believe it or not, the fatigue factor on your shoulder muscles can be relieved by changing the position of your arms from a T or an X to an i. In other words, your arms should be tied directly over your head, instead of slightly out to the side.

When the arms are directly over your head, the shoulder muscles are in a more relaxed state. Pulling on your arms is now assisted by muscles in the chest, abdomen and triceps with minimal shoulder excersion. When the arms are slightly outward from the body, the stress is placed entirely on the neck and shoulder muscles. That's the reason for the fatigue.

I have found that for my arms to be comfortable I need enough slack that I can grasp the rope above where my wrists are tied. This way when I pull, I am not pulling directly on my wrists, but with my whole arm which gives the muscles a stretch, plus there's enough slack to relax them when I stop pulling.

well actually i dont have that problem cause i have never been tied up and tickled .....i want to be tho
