once Ticklish always ticklish as you get older

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to know what anyone thought about this. I am talking about from 20- to 50 years old in progression?Are is it very ticklish at 20 and still very ticklish at 47?

it is some what individualized, but..

i'd say yes. it has been my experience that those i've know at 20 that were ticklish, still are, in their 40's.
personally, i'm just as ticklish.

Sadly, once ticklish isn't always ticklish. A good friend of mine hasn't been ticklish since she was like 15. Goddammit.

I've read that you get less ticklish as you gt older, but I suppose that could mean you get more used to it, more tolerant of it, or it causes less uncontrolled, unbridled panic.

I once had a pen pal several years back who claimed she used to be very ticklish on her feet in her younger years, but then at the time I knew her, when she was like in her 20s, she wasnt ticklish at all, anywhere. Of course, since she was just a pen pal, and we had never met, I couldnt vouch for her ticklishness or lack of, but this is what she claimed to me at least.

A Sad Story

I was ticklish when I was a boy.

However, around age 11 or 12, an unfortunate, stupid, regrettable couple of thoughts entered my mind: I wished I wasn't ticklish any more and I didn't want to be ticklish any more.

Over the course of a year or so, 99% of my ticklishness evaporated.

I've been trying to get it back ever since.

I think it depends on a variety of different factors. One of which being how much you were tickled as a child. I have a friend, (gorgeous girl) who was tickled on her feet by her mother as a child as a way to relax. (Interesting thought.) Her feet desensitized to the sensations after that. Damn shame, though shes ticklish other places.

Personally, my ticklishness diminished when I was a teenager, maybe cuz I was haranguing my cousins into tickling me. As I grew older, I wished to be ticklish, which thankfully occurred.

Personally, I am just as ticklish as I was twenty years ago. Aactually, I feel more ticklish but that may be becuse I've been tickled more intensely in recent times than I ever was before. Also, I've discovered that I am very ticklish in places where I didn't know I was all that sensitive because it wasn't until recent times that those places were ticklishly explored. But yeah, I have read that when people get old that they are less ticklish. I just hope that doesn't happen until a hundred or so.

Ticklishness as you get older....

I'm afraid that I'd have to agree with JJtsasaki. When I was a kid, I was very ticklish, but I loved to tickle! So, as a result, I tickled as much as I could, and somehow, avoided being tickled myself. Gawd what a dummy! I look back now, and wish a bunch of the kids I had tied up and tickled the hell out of would've ganged up on me and tied me up and tickled the living crap out of me! That's because I don't seem to be very ticklish at all, now! Dammit!!!! I think it must have something to do with the old "use it or lose it" senario. 🙁
