On this night, one year ago, at midnight, less than five minutes after the Boston Red Sox happily disposed of George Steinhitler's beloved Yankees in the LCS, I received a call from Phoenix. Ticklish Sinner had given birth to a baby girl, and Jester, the happy dad, was calling to let me know. For me it was special, since Skyylar's birth erased what was a very dark and unhappy anniversary in my life, one that haunted me each twentieth of October. Now, it's a day I can celebrate.

I've never seen a baby in my life who is as photogenic as this one...and we had some classics in my family, including my sister, whose baby pictures were literally stunning. Skyylar's smile can literally light up the entire west coast. Smurfie and Jester made a beautiful baby. Tonight, she's a year old...
