This scenario is not that far off from becoming fact. So much of our lives has become an electronic record in some database. Many of our financial records are shared among instituions across a broad spectrum of businesses.

I travel a lot. Occasionally call in for a pizza on my cell phone. Most of the places I call when I'm on the road recognize my phone number. Their computer files have a record of my preferences and know which motel I will be staying at.
