As I said, the whole symbol idea reminds me of american fraternities [and before anybody complains, I am not american, I don't belong to a frat, and I'm a loner].

That's why I'd steer clear of runes, suns, moons, and anything vaguely esoteric.

We are just a branch of SMBD, looking from the outside, not a secret society... 🙂

That's why I still think we should have a descriptive symbol, if any.

A feather over a curvy background is still the simplest yet more readily recognizable device.

Anything more complex and it will become suspiciously conspicuous [somebody check my spelling, please... 😀 ].

Sometimes the best hiding place is in plain view - but as Ness said, give me some slack on this. 🙂

those who are into BDSM have there own symbol, one that is readily recogniseable to those in the comunity, yet just an ornament to those who don't know.
thats all we are looking for. something as blatant as a feather is going to bring question from people that would ridicule us for our fetish, and i know that is what we as an underground fetish are trying to avoid. we want to be recognised by those of the same ilk without drawing attention from those who would taunt and laugh at us. as far as a "secret sociaty" goes, what do you think we are now? as ticklers we are regulated to chat rooms and a few websites that alow us to endulge without emberrasment. i, as i hope many others think, it would be nice to be able to see one of our own outside the cyber world. hence the need for a symbol.

any one feel the same way?

I think as jude38, only a fetishist can to understand to another like him/her, nobody else can. I believe that any design choosed can to be used in a key ring too (i would prefer a key ring over pendants/tattoos). Just my two centimos (1.0416... e-5 U.S. $).

I see your point, but mine is probably different. Maybe we don't share the same outlook.

So, let me say a feather is not blatant or plain. Not *that* much.

Just as tickling is sexual only for tickle-fetishists, a feather is just a feather for most people.

It can be seen as a quill, or part of a wing, and it could remind of art, of writing, of flight. Nothing inherently sexual or fetish-related.

I don't feel part of a secret society either. I don't think someone in europe is out to make fun of me. 🙂

While some people might be turned off by tickling, tickling-fetish is not something completely alien, or incompatible with "vanilla sex".

With all due respect, it is not "golden shower" or "scat": you can tickle your friends or mates without letting them understand how much it means to you.

Other fetishes are much more conspicuous or blatant. That's why I don't see the need for a cryptic symbol.

I feel something too complex might draw attention, and raise questions a plain feather would never raise.

If you have to follow a dress code, wearing a simple feather device [a pin for instance] could be a viable way to personalize your clothes.

A complex geometric symbol on the other hand might be more questionable and defeat your prime purpose: secrecy.

This said, hey, by all means, wear whatever you wish guys. 😀

I tend to agree with Kalamos a bit here though I am not so opposed to a more cryptic design (reference my drawing). Feathers are used often in native American art, jewelry, etc so at least in this country it wouldnt seem odd at all to have a more realistic feather pendant.
Anyway, a tough call. I will look at drawing something a bit more realistic and see what people thing.Kalamos since your avatar os back to norml again could you post your design up so I can see it again? Thanks!

I had voted for the feather pendant and made a few jewelry designs but never posted them since it seemed everyone wanted something less obvious. But I'll post them anyway. The curvy parts would be silver wire. The last one was just a fun drawing.

I would prefer some more into middle of both ideas. Something too much explicit, would be as obvious as a note saying "I'm a tickle fan" and too much crypted (strange) would be "what hell is it?". I saw in another thread a girl using a BDSM tattoo, it weren't a person with a whip or chains image, but a symbol like ying/yang (at least some like it). Excuse my bad english.

I've just seen Ogleme's pics and I must say I like all of them - but the last one, since it is a bit too "obvious". 🙂

That's what I meant: something elegant and curvy, stylish. Something you can wear on a tie or a jacket, without drawing undue attention.

Ness, my symbol is now my personal pic. Just look for it under my profile. 🙂

It is still a rough idea, so dunno. 🙂

Thanks, I'd say the second one is my favorite as well. Thanks as well for the inspiration and creative sparks this thread has given me, I just don't get to do enough art anymore (other than finger painting and massive cleanups). If I had my stained glass studio all set up, (I packed it all away so I could focus on raising my kids) I could create them using a feather charm and some silver wire. Can everyone wait a couple of years for these? 🙂 🙂 🙂

Heh...ya know it never occured to me to think up something that could be made by myself (or yourself or whoeverself). I'll take a trip to the craft stores tomorrow and check out what they've got. We've got tools and stuff out the yin yang here so we've probably got a soldering (sp?) thing too.
I never know what we have. Hubby's dad has a shop full of tools and machines he's aquired throughout his life. The other day hubby suggested using the weed wacker to cut the grass around the swing set and I said "huh? We've got a weed wacker?".
I say "huh? We've got a _____?" about every day. 😛

Just a passing thought on the feather design. We could use a simple design
Eg. a feather. Then if people want to show ther prefence we could use clip ons
For example, cliped near the quill for Ler. Near the tip for Lee. In the middle or
on both for Switch. No clips for Undeclared

Just an idea I thought I throw on the table.
