Would you rather the site have a video preview, good pictures?

If a site stopped having picture previews or video previews, does that discourage the consumer?

I think a good clip site needs to have picture previews, definitely. They also need to have good written descriptions of what happens in the clip. Without these two things, I'm not going to even consider spending money.

Video previews are nice, but I prefer the ones here at TMF over the "10 second" previews Clips4Sale offers. A producer who's a TMF member and poster has a much higher chance of getting my attention.

Picture previews I can do with or with out, but I always think video previews are a must. To me it gives the buyer a confirmation that it's going to be a good video and not just buying out of curiosity. On the other hand, if it's recurring model, then it shouldn't be all that necessary. This is maybe where preview pics would come into play.

I agree. I think a videoclip more than 5 seconds is a must. Pictures can be grabbed from that "perfect" moment to make the video seem much more grand than it actually is.

Truer words have never been spoken. I will admit to being burned once or twice by tempting pictures. I'd still take that over no picture at all, though.

I prefer sites with some sort of preview. If I don't know what I am potentially buying, then I'm just gamblig with loaded dice as to whether or not I would actually enjoy it.

Agreed. I have been burned one too many times buy sucky video clips. Unless it is a video producer I have confidence in I will not buy without first seeing a clip.

As much as I hate going through the editing process to make really good preview trailers, they are a burden I must bare. Even if its with a repeating model, I believe they are necessary for business.

A solid video trailer gives the customer a glance to see if it fits their taste, and encourages those who are unsure to take a chance on you. It also sends a message that you are not hiding anything, and stand by what you are selling as good material.

Video previews but even those can be risky

Ive seen plenty of previews that look amazing and the model looks ticklish and whatnot yet the video would seem to prove otherwise

So i go off of the preview and what others may say of the company before i buy

I think a good video preview is essential and honesty is always the best policy. That said I have posted 45 second previews and have reached 300 views on clips 4 sale account having only been open a few hours now yet still haven't made a sale. Maybe i`m just being impatient, stupid me

As i said months ago, some previews are cut excellently but fail horribly in the actual video content

Sometimes you take a risk based on a short preview or pix and you find a great vid company(cough viper) and you keep with their stuff because you know what to expect in just about every video and the legitimacy of the models\shoots

But i mean hell, I bought some FM concepts stuff WAAAAY back in the day based on pix. Some were good, some were just terrible

I always prefer a video preview as it gives me a clearer idea of what the clip will be like in terms of the model's personality and reactions. If that isn't available, at the very least, there need to be images for the video. If neither of these are available, then I won't even consider the clip.
