I had a physical on Wednesday, already wasn’t feeling well cause of my asthma, and part of the physical was to test out my stomach area/ liver area making sure all ok. My PCP couldn’t hear me wheezing upon sitting up but laying down was another story… Anyway when she touched me I must’ve been smiling , cause she’s like sorry I didn’t mean for that to be ticklish for you…, I’m like don’t worry about it you gotta do what you gotta do… she’s like ok now I hear wheezing too…

Anyway anyone else experience ticklishness during a physical?

Yes! Whenever a female doctor touches my abdomen I start laughing.

I was once tickled by a nurse putting on the pads to monitor my heart during surgery. When she pressed a pad she hit a ticklish spot. I laughed and said I was ticklish. She then tickled me intentionally!

Next time, smile and tell her “Its ok, I like it, you can tickle me more” and see what she does.

I’ve been tickled a handful of time in doctor offices during exams I’ve always enjoyed it

Same here - and my reactions made all of em smile so that's a bonus haha 😀

there are 3 main ways a med can tickle this area one is thru palpating which uses hands and fingers to feel the surface and whats going on inside, ultrasound which is when they use a device to see whats going on inside and the other one is eliciting a superficial abdominal reflex which is grazing a pointed object or fingernails in each quadrant of the abdomen to see the reactions

these all can be sooo ticklish

Yep, it happens every time. Most of the time they respond "Did that hurt" and I have to clarify "No, just ticklish." On one occasion the nurse said "Oh, sorry, believe me I understand."

I had a dr. ask me if I was ticklish before he examined me. I said yes, but that I’d manage. It’s been two years of semi-frequent appointments and the guy hasn’t tickled me yet. It’s like he’s afraid to, and I’m sitting there saying the opposite to myself! One of these days I’ll bring up the subject, see if there is a backstory to him asking the “ticklish” question. Maybe I can get this guy to intentionally tickle me, even if just once 😉

I had a fairly young, attractive doctor for a time. She had to do an abdominal exam as part of my yearly physical. She started palpitating my stomach, I was able to hold composure, then she started squeezing around the sides slightly and i busted out laughing. The rest of the exam was me giggling and squirming. As she left she gave a mischevious look and wiggled her fingers and said "better watch out or I'll get you again."

Ah , another try? The abdominal reflex is the worst tickle I know. When I stroke from my flanks towards my navel, it is a shocking contraction. When I get tickled in my groin, a kind of quick shocking. When circles around the navel are tickled, it is a very rapid spasmodic quivering in a way that I could never achieve on my own. And that one is the worst with single finger action.

Almost 2 years ago at my last physical (my first since years prior) the female doc pressed on my lower abdomen in just the right spot and I jerked and sat up a bit. She asked me “ticklish?” Not in a playful way though, genuinely asked. I said yes and she asked if she could continue. I said it was alright and she continued. She pressed the other side of my lower abdomen but the shock of the first tickle made me expecting the second, and I didn't sit up the second time. It was the last time I’ve been “tickled”, and I wanted her to be a little playful.

An ex-girlfriend wanted skin tags removed from her neck. When the doctor was feeling the skin tags/touching her neck she did everything she could to not laugh. She lost control at the very end and laughed.

What is funny is this woman would laugh immediately when I touched or kissed her neck. I asked how she was able to not laugh when the doctor touched her neck. She told me that she knew the doctor wasn’t trying to tickle her while I was always tickling her.

I had a lymph node issue some years back. Our lymph nodes are in our neck, armpits and groin/lower abdomen. I had some really tickly exams from an older male doctor, and i think he knew exactly what he was doing.

I had some sports related Injuries when I was younger which resulted in me being accidentally (or at times I thought possibly intentionally judging by how often it happened) on my feet, legs and knees by physiotherapists

Got lightly touched on the neck recently during an exam and the doctor asked if I was ticklish lol. I said "hehe yeah" and just kinda moved on because I wasn't feeling well that day

Honestly it was a bit of everything, I've had some bad hamstring issues, some knee issues and pretty much any other athletics based injury you could have!
