Pictures in Signature?

How do you put a picture in your signature? Does it have to be a specific type of file?

Firstly you need a picture or gif hosted in some web-space of either your own, or someone else who's kindly offered to do it for you.

You then enter the URL of the image in your signature, sandwhiched between a set of image brackets, like so...

If you dont have hotlinkable space of your own, you can use Image Shack without even having to sign up. Though, signing up is free and you can keep track of your goodies that way.
