Well, has been tickled with a pinwheel, or have they used one on somebody else.

I've had the wartenberg wheel used on me in various areas. It depends on where it's used and how much pressure is applied. It can be a fine line between tickling and pain.

I can't get over the fact that pinwheel was a show on Nickelodeon.

Pinwheels can tickle, but the ler has to be extremely careful since hte spokes can puncture the skin. (We are talking about sewing pattern markers, and not actual lawn pinwheels, right?)

I hated that show 'Pinwheel' on Nickelodeon. Come to think of it, I hated most of the Nick Jr. shows except Maya the Bee.

I believe he is talking about the Wartenberg pinwheel, used by doctors for neurological testing. See photo below.

Mistress Zara had one of them. It produced scary sensations for me but did not tickle.

Yes. It depends on the amount of pressure applied and to what body part but it definitely can produce ticklish sensations. It can also produce some really yummy light pain. It's all kinds of fun. 😀

They look interesting. *pokes*

Neurological testing? Does it involve them using it on your feet if you are coming out of a coma, or does it involve them using it during, like, recovery cases or something?

I've just ... never seen them used before... Nor have I seen them in real life.

I thought it was only used on the soles.

lol same but they don't seem like the most useful tool for tickling

Here is a brief bio and description of the device:

Robert Wartenberg (1886 – 1956) was an American neurologist native of Germany.

Dr. Robert Wartenberg graduated from the University of Rostock, Germany in 1919. He worked with Max Nonne in Hamburg and Otfrid Foerster in Breslau. In 1933 he became head of the neurological clinic at Freiburg and Privatdozent in neurology. However, he was persecuted by the Nazis, and in 1935 he left Germany and settled in San Francisco. In 1952 he was appointed clinical professor of neurology at the University of California.

A Wartenberg wheel, also called a Wartenberg pinwheel or Wartenberg neurowheel, is a medical device for neurological use. It was originally designed by Dr. Robert Wartenberg to test nerve reactions (sensibility) as it rolled systematically across the skin. A Wartenberg wheel is generally made of stainless steel with a handle of approximately seven inches in length. The wheel, which has evenly spaced radiating sharp pins, rotates around as it is rolled across the flesh. A disposable plastic version is available. Because of hygienic problems, these devices are hardly used any more.

The Wartenberg wheel is also used as a sex toy.
