For me ticking is more of a playful act, although in a relationship in can sometimes take on a sensual quality. I know for some it is more sensual on the whole. Right now though, I want to talk about Playful Tickling.
To play is to have fun, relax, be free, touch the world around you and exchange with others. I rememeber when I was a kid and I would swing on the swingset, higher and higher, giggling as I touched the sky, feeling like my world was for that moment the best it could be. When you are young, play is essential to day to day life. What happens?
We lose that sense of play and how to touch the sky, giggling as we go higher and higher. We are forced into a grown up world, to take charge of our world and play the politics adults play. You forget what it is like to touch the sky.
With playful tickling I don't forget what it is like, as I giggle and giggle, going higher and higher. I rarely have been in a tickle fight as an adult, but it's one form of play that I love, rolling on the carpet, reaching for those tickle spots and the other trying to find mine, giggling and giggling, as we go higher and higher. It's a tug of war, a hide and seek and all of the childhood games rolled into one. Playful tickling, what a way to hold onto some of that child within us all.
