Her fiance (a serving Marine) has been sent to Iraq and she is very sad because he is so far away from her. She feels so lonely and so I ask you to please cheer her up by leaving some kind thoughts and words here. She deserves this family to come together around her.

Wow. Pettyofficergirl, I happen to know a girl whose fiancee was sent to Iraq himself. I've seen first hand how hard it can be for loved ones to deal. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and if you ever need to talk, don't hesitate to write.

Pettyofficergirl, thanks to both your fiancee' and you for serving the United States in time of war. The support of a wife (which you practically are) is as important as the official duty of her spouse. You both have my sincere gratitude. The willingness of people like you two to defend freedom makes this forum (and a million other kinds of expression) possible.

Thank you.

Petty, I have found you to be a very kind person in the short time I've known you. My thoughts and prayers are with your fiance. Iam a very good listener. If you ever need to chat, vent, or such, please feel free to pc me in chat or pm me anytime. Take care.

Best wishes,
Mitch

We haven't met. But, I'll share some thoughts anyway. My neice's fiance was sent to Iraq just after he proposed. She heard from him about once a month while he was gone. When he found out that his tour was up, they scheduled the wedding....over Christmas. The day before the wedding, as he was checking out on leave, he was informed that he had only 48 hours because they'd been ordered back to Iraq for a second tour. Another 6 months and he's now home, out of the military and happily enjoying married life.

It's a tough road. There are no words to adequately ease fears and lessen how much you miss him. But, know that we're here and sending good thoughts for both of you. Thank-you both for the sacrifice you're making! May he be safe and come home quickly....and all of our other soldiers as well.

Ann

It takes a strong person to deal with deployment. Petty sweetie if you ever need someone to talk to, I know exactly what your going through, I'm going through the same with Flatfoot...You'll be alright sweetie. Just keep yourself busy, and keep in contact with him. :Kiss1: :twohugs:

Tis the fiance...

First off, semper fidelis everyone. I want to thank you all for your kind words to Kate (pettyofficergrl) and myself. My name is Matthew, and I am a Master Seargant in the Marine Corps. on his second tour to Iraq. As I right this, I am in Ireland with about 30 mins before I get on a plane to Iraq. The words you have all spoken really help in times like this. I will be able to chat with anyone who pleases while I am in Iraq, for I have a labtop. If anyone has questions, I would be happy to answer them, to an extent. Everyone, please take care of my Katie in my absence. You are all true friends. I hope to return in 6 months to tickle once more. Ooo rah! Semper fi! Do or die! Ahem, carry on.

Thank you all so much! *tear*

You are all so kind! It would be more personal to thank each one of you seperatly. So here it goes...

ticklishscribe- You are my best friend among these forums. I dont know how to thank you... Your the best! *huggles*

Adam- Thank you, and my best wishes to your friend's fiance. I can only bet that she is feeling the same as me.

Iwon'tgrowup- Thank you, and your welcome, lol. Your words are as true as they are kind. We do our best for all of you!

Mitchell- Thank you, in the time that I've known you I have discovered you to be a very good friend. I appreciate your words and your offer, which I will probably take you up on.

TklDuo-Ann- I am very happy for your niece and her fiance, and I hope that my bear will return to me so we can also live a happy life of marriage. I thank you, and everyone else on the thoughts you share with my fiance and I.

Enny- It is hard... I've made it this far, so what can't I make it through? I would love to talk sometime. I hope your guy will come home safely, along with my bear. I will keep in touch with him, it's the only thing I have for 6 months. Thank you.

USMCtickler- As for you!!! Please... Come home to me safely... You made me a promise, and I expect you to keep it. I love you!!! I love you SOOOOOOOOO much! Good bye bear, I miss you...

Matthew/Kate,

God Bless you both for your service to your country. It is because of you that we enjoy our freedom.

Matthew -- Take care, and stay safe. You and your Marines will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you can come home soon.

Kate -- I can only imagine how difficult it is to be the one to say "goodbye" when a loved one deploys. If there is anything that I can do for you or Matthew, please let me know.

Kate and Matthew,

I know many have already sent their thoughts and prayers but you can never seem to have enough of both. So, I add mine as well. I wish you both the best. My heart goes out to you both.

Hugs,
Sadira

P.S. I don't know if you all are as "sappy" as I am, but I cried the whole time I read this. Yeah....I'm just like that....give me a good Hallmark commercial and I'm reaching for the Kleenex.

Here I am...

I would like to inform you all that I am here in Iraq, and still safe. I am a few miles south of Fallujah, and have been leading convoys non stop since I've been here. We have been ambushed twice, but no casulties. My brother-in-arms/best friend has been severely wounded though, and I would like you to add him to your prayers and good thoughts. His name is Corporal Bradford, and he is in really bad shape. Please give him your best. Semper fi, carry on.

PS: Sadira, I would not call that sappy. Me and Kate cryed the whole week before I left. lol, thank you for your tears, they mean alot.

Kate sweetie, if you ever need to talk just IM me or send me a PM. :redheart:

Come home safe, Matthew, and bring home everybody else too!

Kate, stay strong! My wife at the time went through what you're feeling now while I was over in that sandbox the FIRST time.

I wish we had a smilie that saluted, and/or an American flag one...
