Please keep someone in your thoughts

Hi everyone, it is late and I am bushed! I haven't had a moment to pop in the last couple of days nor has it been on my mind. I am really awed that so many of you have taken the time to send your thoughts this way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Tomorrow morning my dad gets his pacemaker, he is stubborn and gave us all a scare but I think things will be alright. Just hard to see the one who always took care of you sitting there looking so weak and fragile. Very hard to see your folks age.

Well my body, eyes and soul are very tired and I need to get up and going tomorrow....again thank you all for your wishes.

Wonderful to feel arms of this community wrapped around you.

Judy

I am impressed at the response in this thread as well and want to take the time to thank all the new posters and to apologize for inadverdently omitting Mitchell previously.

kared: I see you are relatively new here. Welcome, and thanks for your kind words. Good luck on the Colts this week (assuming your a Colts fan). I think their time has come.

kwildoctr: Kwild and Lite, thank you so much for caring. I really enjoy seeing you guys on line and hopefully one day we can meet in person

Knox: You know I regard you and the miz up there with the best of them. Thank you so much, and I'm sure Judy knows that you are there

drew70: I can't wait to tip a few beers with you some day. You are a great guy, and your kind words are very much appreciated. BTW, I don't know if you saw, but I picked the Skins to go to the Bowl. They kind of remind me of the 88 Dodgers who beat my beloved Mets.

Dave2112: The first sentence I just said to Drew70 certainly applies to you as well. Sometimes, like you said, things like this bring people together. Your kind wishes make it complete though. I hope you pull through your own medical issues as well. Thank you for your thoughts.

Last but not least, Mitchell: Again I am sorry for before. It was just an oversight. I am happy for you in a couple of ways. First kudos in successfully dealing with your own health issues as well. Second, I hope things go well with your father AFA rebuilding a relationship. I realize it will be an uphill battle. Your posts are of quality and class. Thank you very much for your thoughts.

We'll know more over the next couple of days.

Dave, thank you for the update, and for your kind words about everyone. Most people who have pacemakers are able to lead relatively normal lives, so I believe that Judy's father will be all right soon. Hang in there, and take care. 🙂

My aunt has had a pacemaker for a number of years. she is 80 and going strong.

Glad to hear that things are looking up, guys. We'll continue to pray.

Oh, and Dave (since you asked)... Mom is completely recovered from the surgery. So, that part is out of the way. She started a new kind of chemo on Friday after they realized that the one that had been giving her fits for four months had done no good. The cancer has blown up throughout her system. So far, there's been little side effects to this chemo cocktail. Hopefully, it will remain that way and it will actually work. Thanks for asking.

Ann thats great news. i meant to ask also. sorry for being remiss... and wow this forum does care. i agree with jpie, that it is so hard to watch your parents age. but all of you will be in my thoughts, and as Dave said i am only a pm away for anyone who would like to vent. i have been there and can offer a sympathetic shoulder.

I hope it goes through well. Keep your thoughts focused on happier times.

dad has his pacemaker and he looks better already, amazing little gadget! I am tired again but wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts!!! Now I need to go get some rest. I am going to get busy cooking some food to stock in their fridge for a while since dad has done most of the cooking since mom can't walk well.

Wow that was quick. (just found this thread and it's only two days old)

Yeah these heart docs are doing amazing stuff these days.

Your dad is now good for another 200,000 miles or 20 years. That's neat.

See what happens when you miss a few days.

I am sorry to hear about your Dad Judy, but I am glad that everything has turned out OK for him.

God bless !

My prayers go out to you and your family!

Judy, you echo my own thoughts. At this time last year, my dad was still on a feeding tube. You are so correct when you say it's hard to see the one who took care of you lying helpless and looking weak and fragile. I think that was the hardest thing for me with Dad's ordeal. Thankfully, he is doing better but he's still not as strong as he used to be.

my prayers are with you and Dave as you get through this together. You have something I didn't have. You have each other to lean on.

and I agree with what you said about this forum and feeling the love from the community. I take comfort in that every day.

Take care and get some rest.

God Bless,

crystal
