My point exactly, providing you didn't mean that sarcastically. Simon Cowell is a good example of a judge on the judge's panel that is blunt, hard to please, knows who the creams of the crop are, and means well. If Simon was just saying that to be an a$$hole, then he wouldn't be there, nor would his opinion be very valid at all. So in a sense, my statement about my likeness to him stands.

As far as my 500th post, thank you. No matter how you meant it, I'll pretend it was good. 😛

As far as 500 pictures, be realistic, that would take a long time to accomplish. And I'm sure even you know by now my mottos are "quality over quantity" and "patience over quick, forced results". For impatient or selfish people, obviously this ideal isn't suited for them. But for those that appriciate and savor a well thought out and drawn pic, the reward is worth the wait and time isn't an issue for them. Its to that audiance I'm appealing to the most. I don't see this as a race Dan (Can I call you that or not? You've never really said).

And its even better because you started your group months before I started mine, and you advertize much more than I do. It doesn't matter that your ahead now, I accomplished it before you did. 😛 😀

But in order to clear up what you said, I will. First, we aren't talking about presidents, so comparing this to an election is petty. As far as me being successful, well, I'm just as successful as you are or anyone else here for that matter. If I want a banner, I'll make one, but I was refering more to the links you have on other sites, not a banner. As far as my threads being really long, thats actually a good thing. In those threads theres a conversation going between me and several people, so I'm not talking to myself and once the topic is done and the thread has served its purpose, we often casually talk. Nothing wrong with that.

Satisfied about what? Your attempt to mock me? Hardly. I wouldn't consider it help nor would anyone else. As far as people admiring me, they already do. Why would I need you of all people? Make some sense man before you put your foot in your mouth like that.

I can honestly say its his fault. He didn't have to comment on what I said starting with his first post. He simply could have ignored me as I was going to ignore him in this thread, for your sake. And I wasn't really refering to that incident in this thread atall. Please stop using that as an excuse to rag me. Its on him.

And its not a copyright issue. Putting it that way makes it impossible for me to be right. If it were about a copyright, I already would have taken legal action of some kind. This is your thread, and I'm here for you in it. I thought he was just teasing me, so I teased him a bit. As far as how I meant it, it was completely without spite, as I thought he and I were doing better than we were before. I can't help that he took it the wrong way.

Yeah. And I'm starting to appriciate different types of tickling. Seeing how hes drawn tickling being done in stocks, I think I'll do that too sometime, or maybe even soon. This update really was good. Definitely the best one hes ever had. I can't quite put my finger on it either. Because his art skill really didn't change. It seems the same....I don't know what it is, but these pictures are somehow better than his previous ones. Can you tell what it is HDS? Maybe its the coloring or something.

Well, artists, you included, are always improving as they draw. Perhaps you just noticed. OR perhaps your interests simply shifted. I know that I used to LOATHE any type of anime/cartoon tickling. (Incredible, eh?) But then, I saw a few of Hiro M.s early works and it seemed to click for some reason. Perhaps a similar thing happened to you just now, no?

Good point, but I don't think its that. As an artist, I would have been able to spot the obvious differences. I see no difference or shift of his art or his art style. But there seems to be something else added in, or something else better expressed. I usually can figure out these things in a matter of seconds, but I'm stumped on this one.

With you it was because you saw the genre for the first time with tickling, but its not new to me, so I don't get whats going on here. Some of these pictures have an attracting quality to them, and I don't see why, since they don't look any different.

Keep looking. Maybe you can find something that I overlooked.

"Upping the Bar" just isn't powerful enough nomenclature to assign to your ongoing work, Chimp. These are rock solid toons. I've always loved your style, one I see as a mid-way point between cartoons and anime. I can't tell you which of this latest batch I like best, but the "Blimey" had me bustin' guts! To get that facial expression on a half-shrouded face takes talent.

I don't usually post around here, but you, Celtic, are getting on my nerves.

Whenever someone criticises you, you whine as much as anyone, but when you criticise, you seem "shocked" that they don't like it, even though they take it in the main better than you do.

As far as your art, its great, and naturally better than what I could do due to practice, but you certainly aren't the best artist here, so don't get so arrogant hey?

I'm sorry you've chosen to interprete it that way. I see you only have 2 posts here. I don't see how you could even know me, unless your someone else and are just using a different account. In either case, I'm hardly criticized and you make it sound like a common oocurance, and when I have been I never whined about it. I can count the one time I was upset about what someone said about my art. But I and everyone knew that he was just saying that to insult me rather than to critique me. His only point was to use that as an excuse to belittle me. But that was ages ago and he is long gone, and not a situation like it has happened since. So what your saying isn't true actually. The second part of that sentence confused me. How do I act shocked exactly?

As far as you giving me acclaim and credit, thank you. Although I don't really practice at all. I guess I'm just fortunite to have somewhat of a natural ability, thankfully. Finally, I don't think I'm the best artist here. So I don't know where that came from. I personally acknowledge 2 superiors in the art department. I've said this publically on several occasions. While my art is high up there in comparison, even I know its not the best. I wouldn't want to be either. Its far too much pressure. And as an artist, I'd be obligated to constantly fight to keep that position. I'm happy where I am.

If your post was in regards to this thread or thats what sparked it, if you read carefully, I've given the man his props and came in here with a good intention just as everyone else. I don't see how I've done anything wrong here or in any other instance. If your refering to Slannish, I have a reason to be disgruntled with him, although even in this thread I was just teasing him, as he was to me (he started it, it usually is that way). I meant well by it, and I at least feel we've been more able to talk now, than ever.

Your intitled to your opinion, and I respect it, but its events like these that people assume to know what I'm thinking or assume to know my intentions at every given time, and thats what causes negative exchanges such as these. Truely unfortunite, because I'm a really nice guy. Anyone that bothers to talk to me personally would know that. Good day, madam.

Unfortunate is right, because you certainly don't seem to be one. Recently, from such a small comment as "nope" you started whining like a child, even complaining about the use of a smilie as rude as insinuating it could get someone in trouble. If you stopped over-reacting you wouldnt appear "shocked".

You even went as far as to call your own work "exceptional" which as you know and just admitted, it is not - yet - although It could be in time, and practice!

As far as my work being exceptional in my own mind, I honestly believe it is. But I only think so in comparison to everyone else, not a pre-determinded thought or idea. As far as becoming a better artist, everyone does that. I don't need your boost, quite frankly, or whatever you last comment was designed for. My work is good, and I'm happy it is. If it sucked, I wouldn't be here obviously. Not out of fear of anyone else and what they would think, but out of my own dissatisfaction with it. I'm just as hard on myself as anyone else.

The thread I was talking about is in the anime art section - wasn't that long ago, so it should be on the first or second page.

As a sidenote - if you think you could succeed in a more competitive art community - you could try showing it to broad art-oriented forums, if you don't already. You would get much more constructive and qualified commentators who might give you some hints and tips.
