A week after losing Alex Smith to a horrific broken leg, in steps Colt McCoy and his fate is the same. He ended up breaking his leg in the second quarter of tonight's game at Philly and is done for the year.

Now, Redskins' hopes rest on Mark Sanchez. . .yes, he of the infamous "Butt Fumble " when he was with the Jets. He hasn't taken a snap from center since 2016. It may be OK though, on one of Sanchez's first snaps, he handed off to 33 year old Adrian "all day" Peterson who took it 90 yards to the house.

Right now coming up on the 4th quarter Philly is leading 14-13.

It's over, the seasons's over, this team is dead. I don't care if we're "still in the hunt" after tonight, we're not going anywhere. This is The Body Bag Game II, and our horrendous MNF record over the past two decades gets worse.

Taking a QB in Round 1 has to be considered now.

Man, I feel bad for Colt McCoy. Yeah, when you have to run Sanchez out there at QB might as well turn out the lights. Better luck next year buddy, I feel for ya.

I'd honestly rather have my hopes dashed now than later. Now I don't have to spend the next four weeks scoreboard watching. I know mathematically we're still alive, but we're not going anywhere. At best, we're gonna finish 7-9.

Even without all the injuries, we'd still be in a similar spot record wise because the thing that's won us most of our games has fallen apart. The defense. And that's not due to injury, it's just the play has declined. It's certainly improved from last year, but it's not elite, and relying on it won't win you anything. When it's winning you a couple games that's fine and dandy, but on days where it's not playing well, you need an offense to pick up the slack. And the Redskins haven't had that all year. I mentioned the other week the Jaguars and Broncos. The Jags were minutes away from going to the superbowl last season thanks to defense, but they've stunk this year. The Broncos won a title three years ago thanks to defense, but haven't made the playoffs since. And I don't think they're gonna make it this season. You may catch lightning in a bottle for one season with defense, but at the end of the day, you need offense.

The Ravens of the past can be used as an example as well. After they won their first title in 2000 thanks to one of the greatest defenses ever, while they actually maintained a solid defense years after that, it didn't bring them another title. You need some offense, and from 2001-2007 they were in limbo basically with their offense.

What I think my Redskins need to do:

Make some big staff chances, but keep the Head Coach. In three of the five years he's been here, he's been dealt a very poor hand. A bad team with no 1st round pick in 2014 because of the RG3 trade, and getting severely bit by the injury bug last season and this current season.

They also should strongly consider drafting a QB in round one or two. They can't go into next season with QBs on the roster who are all 30+ years old.
