Post your favorite instruments

I can play pretty much any kind of saxophone, soprano is my favorite with tenor in second, but I only own an alto...

And, using Falcon's terminology, I half-assedly play the bass guitar, lol.

I've always loved the sound of trumpets and saxophones, but there's something really soulful about a harmonica which is why I've started to pick it up.

I also play guitar, but I'm more partial towards acoustic than electric.

I like playing on my banjo string.

I snapped mine a while ago 🙁

Mister Zero I understand you are a skilled proponent of the oboe and clarinet. Have you any comment to make on the assertion that your skill in playing these instruments comes from years of experience of shoving long hardened black objects into your mouth and blowing really hard?

They say people with no banjo string can't get it up. I'm inclined to agree. On your part, of course. 😀

I thought that in order to play the clarinet one had to shove it up one's arse and make flatulent noises, taking care not to follow through, Mister Snap. At least, that's how I played it. Dunno about the Oboe. Maybe one had to grow one's pubes and beard very long, attach them together in a string like fashion and strum it like a harp.

You're thinking of a hurdy gurdy. My pubes and beard are usually intertwined in such a fashion anyway so I'm ever ready for a good old hurdy gurdy jam session; you want to see me and Ol' Bob Plankton down the Red Lion of a Friday, a more energetic and charismatic hurdy gurdy/ harpsichord Dead Kennedys tribute band there is not within these British Isles.

As long as you don't go flinging your crabs everywhere, I reckon that'll be quite a good gig.

What are you on about? The Lion changed it's motto to accomodate us; "Come for a pint, stay for the flying pubic lice" 😀

No but seriously I like banjos.

Now that was fucking hilarious.

My synth setup 😀

Can you use this as a standalone or does it require external input? If so, would it be compatible with a YamahaDGX-205 Portable Grand? Since my FX mixing board and monitor speakers were stolen and sold away never to be seen again, i've really been missing having the ability to play with the sound.

You can use it as standalone, or in a host such as Cubase or Logic Pro, with which you can write in the MIDI signals by hand. However, this is time-consuming, and boring. You should be able to use the MIDI out on the yamaha as a controller keyboard, and that's probably your best bet 🙂

Zoom Fire 7010

I just borrowed this pics of Zoom fire 7010 from the net, which happens to be the same model as what I got. This is my favorite inexpensive compact digital guitar gadget one that I can bring along anywhere because it has approx 10-ohm built-in speaker and because it is very small in size, versatile...fit for a small person like me. For casual fun, this can replace one from bringing an amp. Without plugging it to a loud speaker though, you'll miss the bass sound and may not suit to a very serious gig. It has presets which you can tweak at your liking.

Effects: compressor, wah, distortion, EQ, mod, verb/delay

Dimensions: L=22 cm; W=12 cm, height varies (domed) but at max 8 cm
