Did anyone else in the Northeast or Mid Atlantic lose their electricity due to the severe weather yesterday? I was in my apartment about 145pm eastern yesterday, and the power went out. After that, the strangest thing happened. The power kept flickering on and off, and on and off, before finally going out. I live on the second floor, so my apartment gets hot quickly. As it turned out, some friends were going to Red Lobster for lunch/early dinner, whatever, and I ended up deciding to join them. Of course, the power went back on soon after I left the apartment.

The power situation here is terrible. It seems as though several times a year, it is always going out.

Anyhow, just wanted to post to find out if anyone else in the region lost power due to the heavy storms yesterday.

Did you hear that a woman was electrocuted in your county when some wires came down?

No, carl. I didn't hear that until you just told me about it. I just came from reading the story. It happened not far from me. I live in Manor Township, the township where it occured.

How tragic!

There were nearly half a milion folks without power through PA, NJ, MD, DC, VA & WV at the height of the storms yesterday. Many are still out. So, you may hear about others here who lost power later on once it's restored. This round missed us...a good thing after getting nailed by the tornado last week. They're still cleaning things up. (We had a truly awesome electrical storm Friday night too. Simply gorgeous!)

Wow, Ann. A half a million people without power is a lot.

As I was riding around town today, I saw a huge tree that came down near the Franklin and Marshall College campus. That's just a few miles from me.

I'm still stunned about the woman who was electrocuted. How tragic.
