Hey folks. I have a question for some of you who may be considering attending this years upcoming GLAT gathering.
The very first gathering I intended to host was planned for Sept, 2002. I was forced to cancel it before the event actually took place, and then rescheduled it and actually held it the first weekend in April, 2003.
I had a lot of attendees confirmed and/or interested in that original gathering planned in Sept. 2002, that I missed out on for the rescheduled GLAT in April. Some that come to mind are Lite, Kwil, Venray and Venraya, BigJim, and some others.
My first question is whether that was more of a decision to just not travel that far for a gathering after all, or because it was simply scheduled too close to the annual NEST gathering in PA, which is obviously a bigger event, as well as much closer for you east coasters?
The reason I am asking is because if there is any chance of getting those of you who had originally expressed interest in the first one to attend GLAT this year, I am willing to make whatever arrangements necessary to pull that off. I realize that NEST obviously takes precedence over any other gatherings, especially for those of you in that area.
At this point I am looking at the first weekend in May for this years GLAT gathering, but I am also aware of the fact that NEST will be held in approx. the same time frame. That will likely make it impossible for all planned NEST attendees to attend GLAT as well. So my second question becomes, if I change the prospective weekend for the GLAT gathering from Spring to late Summer (say Sept), will that influence any of you who were originally interested in attending, to considering attending this time around?
I don't want to step on anyones toes. And I would really love to have some of you whom I mentioned above, as well as other east coasters who I have invited to my events previously.
If I change the event from Spring to Sept, would you be more likely to attend? Or would you just straight out prefer to stay with east coast events? If that's the case, I will leave it planned for May. But if changing it to Sept could result in the attendance of some of you NEST'ers, I will gladly do so. Anything for the best possible event!
Please let me know your stand on this, so that I may make my decision concerning the dates asap.
Thanks a lot!!
Mimi 🙂
