Prize Win-Trip to New York

Tonight I learned that I have won a pretty neat prize. Last Saturday I was down in King of Prussia mall in King of Prussia, PA, a Philly suburb, and filled out an entry form to enter a contest. The grand prize for the contest was a Hummer Vehicle, which they say Iam still in the running for. Tonight, I received a call from a girl named Ashley, who told me I have won a 3 day 2 night stay at any Marriott hotel nationwide. The only catch is that I have to go down to King of Prussia, 90 minutes from here, to their office. I have to sign my acceptance form, and listen to a one hour presentation, about their travel products. I also won a $500 internet shopping spree through their company. I have an appointment to meet with these people on Wednesday at 430pm at their offices near the King of Prussia mall. With my prize, I plan to visit my family in New York, and hopefully stay at the Marriott Marquis hotel in Manhattan. At this point, Iam hoping to take the trip the first weekend in November, but will discuss this with the travel company when I see them on Wednesday. Iam pretty excited, as I havent been to NY in four years. I will post further details when I know more on Wednesday, but just wanted to post about this situation now. I think this is all kind of cool.

I'm extremely curious to see how this turns out for you. This sounds very much like a time-share promotion. If that's the case, you may get a very pushy presentation at your meeting on Wednesday afternoon, trying to get you to buy into the company's time-share. If you want a time share, the salepeople are great to you. Sometimes sales people at these these turn decidely unpleasant when you don't buy. I haven't experienced this first-hand, but have heard many stories from people who have. Hopefully I'm being overly cynical and this won't happen to you, but just wanted to let you know that this is a possibility.

This might be one way of getting the people off your backs. Tell them you REALLY REALLY WANT whatever they are pedalling, but, darn your luck! You've left you're wallet at home! You'll ring them when you get back from NYC.

Or you could give them the credit card number of someone who as really pissed you off over the years (not me please)

Thanks for the advice guys! I wont be buying into any time share! I just want my prize to go see my family and friends. Beyond that, they can keep whatever theyre selling.

Can I ask you a *serious* question Mitch. If the woman of your dreams offered you a timeshare and promised to do anything to get you to accept, even stand on a ladder and let you tickle her deathly ticklish feet (that she'd been teasing you will all day), would you accept?!

Personally, such a saleswomen would bankrupt me!!!

Although I'd have the last laugh as I could report her for 'inappropriate behaviour and get my money back! Or better still, tell her i'll report her unless she lets me tickle her whenever, wherever, however!!!!
