Problem accessing chatter

When I click on the chat icon, my browser freezes every time,
either right away, or when I try and input a user id to enter
the chat room. I have to ctrl alt delete out. I have
Win 98, 256 of ram, and a p II 400, it shouldn't be my system.
Any ideas?
 
You are still a bit light on RAM, but not bad enough to make a difference to the chatroom.

The problem seems to be a java/browser based one. I'd suggest you try to upgrade to the newest version of IE (or perhaps get a new copy of it in case you are at the current version, you might have a corruption problem), and grab a copy of Netscape while you are out there and try that also. Odds are one fo them will get you in.
