I keep getting told I cannot post after I have written everything out because I have URL in the post when I most certainly do not. I have tried removing all slashes/dashes from my post, but it doesn't seem to help. Suggestions, anyone?

You need to get 10 posts before to can : pm, post links, post attachments, to get an avatar. So the answer is very simple, get 10 posts first.
 
Hmmmm.....strange, but it should be a moot point now since you have over ten posts. If it still remains an issue, PM me and I'll look into it.
