Have you heard so much hype about a movie only to have it let you down?

Maybe you haven't read or heard too much about it, but expected something a little better.

Did a movie fall apart half way through?

Did the ending just suck entirely?

Lend us your thoughts!

SUPERMAN RETURNS
THE VILLAGE
TRANSFORMERS
VAN HELSING
SIGNS
THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT

I can list a 1000 more, but I want to leave some for you guys 😉

Superman returns was pretty bland.
Bruno was just OK, definitely no borat.
The biggest letdown I can think of was Reno 911:miami. It just felt like a 1 1/2 hour episode.
And I know it was just staying true to the book, but War of the worlds just pretty much fizzled out at the end.

Zack and Miri. I was so excited to see that movie everyone said it was so awesome and shit, blah was more like it.

The English Patient
Reviewers and ordinary people all told me it was great. It was so boring that I almost fell asleep during this movie. I was so happy when it ended.

The Blair Witch Project
It was supposed to be scary. A shaking camera isn't scary. It was just silly and boring.

Love in the Time of Cholera. Didn't represent the novel or the genre.

I definitely agree with The Village. Such a terrible, disappointing film.
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist was another. The movie has almost no connection to the book, which was amazing.

transformers2

This movie was a let down for me.

Last edited:
- The second Underworld. Although the third one made up for the first two.

- The newest Resident Evil.

(I forgot the names of each movie, hence the "first" and "second" and "kumquat" titles. 😛)

Star Wars Epidode I, II, and III...

Like a sucker, I kept thinking the next one couldn't possibly be as bad as the last one... but it always, always was. :pukefight:

Those movies were so bad, they wrecked the original trilogy for me. Now I can't look at Darth Vader without imagining that little bitch Hayden Christianson inside the armour...:Grrr:

Omg. Agreed!

I had such high hopes for this movie and was really disappointed with everything about it. 🙁

HA! HA! HA! Me too!!!

"This world is so fucked up." Quote the Leo, never more.

Any Mr. Bean movie. Take one of the most hilarious premises in television, and turn it into bad movies.

District 9

So much potential -- bad execution. The main character was an annoying wimp.

Star Wars Epidode I, II, and III...

I'm w/ya on this one , c7_assassin ... BIG TIME! I'm even gonna add the "Special Edition" versions of the original trilogy as supreme letdowns , as well.

George Lucas has taken such a tremendous shit on his once exalted franchise that you can actually see the skidmarks on the film stock. Fuck him.

For more movie letdowns ... The Matrix sequels.

The Matrix Reloaded wasn't too bad ( I guess 🙄 ) , but The Matrix Revolutions was such a goddamn mess , I chucked the cardboard standee of it into the dumpster before the credits ended.

The sequels to Blade were pretty damn shitty , too.

Most recently, it was Factory Girl, a movie about the rise and fall of Edie Sedgwick and her relationships with Andy Warhol and Bob Dylan. It was disappointing for sure.

The last Batman movie; you know the huge blockbuster hit that even got Heath Ledger a postumous oscar nomination? I couldn't stay awake and I was watching it at home on dvd and just couldn't keep my eyes open. The most boring movie I've ever seen.......EVER!!

Borat....didn't make it through the first ten minutes and I'm not even going to try Bruno-the trailers look stupid enough for me.

Lord of the Rings triliogy; never saw one in its entirety

I almost went to see Funny People; now I'll just wait for it to show up at the redbox for 1.00!

Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace...I knew then that dark days were coming down on Star Wars. Despite the greatest lightsaber battle in ANY of the movies AND the general badassery (did I just make up a word?) of Darth Maul, it was all undone by the kid and Jar Jar.

The Blair Witch project

awful awful movie....after the first few minutes, I wished the witch would find them and kill them already....
