I seem to be noticing more people walking barefoot in public... during nice weather of course. Has anyone else seen this? What are your thoughts on the matter?

I do the same, and you're right, the sand can do wonders. The only times I'm barefoot are at home and at the beach because I love walking through the sand. Makes the footsies soft.
It's not the calluses that are the issue or even the dirt. It's those nasty little bugs( bacteria or viruses) that can invade in any open cracks of your skin.Lol, I love flip-flops and also walking around barefoot. It's a nice feelig and the thing with the calusses is no prob. Ya can get a pedicure. Hehe, and when they ae dirty, so the cleaning up could be fun. Hehe, juz think of warm water and a brush. lol
All kinds of bacteria and germs on the pavement and even on the floors. I would say no.
