Question About a Personal Ad..

Conspiracy Theorist here.....

It just sets off a warning bell in my head when someone new (few posts, not knowing the regulars here, etc) jumps into the tickling pond with "Hey! I'm ticklish too! And I'll let you tickle me...for a price. Let's get together."

It just sounds like someone who happened across this place, and thought of a quick way to make a buck, whether she's actually ticklish or not.

Why not charge for it, when she's inviting complete strangers? Sure, there are lots of people on here that talk about many exciting, free scenarios with willing and more unwilling ticklees, but I doubt most of them are of any serious length (session-wise), and those that are, well, I'm willing to bet the relationship is a lot more advanced than "just met", and if not that, then there is some form of compensation involved.

I'm not quite sure of your logic. While I doubt most people invite complete strangers, I doubt a few emails constitutes being much more advanced than "just met." I have met people after no more than this, though of course we met at a public area first to see if I felt safe playing with them.

I could see someone who is paying for a tickling session perhaps going a bit out of line because they are paying for it and want to get their money's worth.

As for the desperateness of people willing to pay to tickle someone -- well, there's people out there willing to have sex for free, yet people still pay for sex for whatever reason (freedom from emotional entanglement, attractiveness, guarantee of something happening, etc.) so I can't justify passing judgement on those who would pay for tickling. What if you paid 200 dollars for a plane ticket to go meet someone and they decided they just weren't in the mood for tickling that day? If that's all you were after, wouldn't it make more sense to shell out the extra cash and have a guarantee you would get what you came for?

Aquafeline, she placed her ad here at TMF, where the prospects of meeting someone from her home town would be slim, at best. Anyone visiting her would most likely be driving or flying out to see her.

If she could find willing ticklers in her home town, her appointment book would probably be filled by now.

I doubt she had mugging in mind. I was trying to see all of the possible motives that could be involved with placing the ad...the most obvious being that she's a college student in need of financial assistance.

My younger sister worked two jobs PLUS attended classes at Georgia Tech.....sis would come to visit us on holidays and fall asleep on the sofa; totally exausted. I worried myself sick about Becky....gave her everything I could spare to pay for her books, tuition, food etc.

I honestly admire your willingness to earn your college education any way possible. My primary concern is for your safety. Most on this forum are like me....folks who enjoy tickling, but very respectful of those who allow them to do so. This thread wasn't meant to knock her. She's free to earn her keep any way she sees fit.

I was questioning as to whether anyone was foolish enough to actually pay that price given a lot of the local coeds here would do fully clothed non bondage tickling for about 50 or less.

I say go for it, but I think you have to be pretty thick-skinned to do something like this...certainly tough enough to expect folks to post in this <i>public</i> forum about your <i>public</i> ad and NOT take offense or consider it as something done "behind your back."

To me, if you're accepting payment for sevices rendered, it's a business. Honestly, that applies whether you enjoy your work or not. It also applies whether you use the money for a cause you feel is worthy or not. I think almost everyone who runs any TK-related business on this site (or on others) has been under the microscope and publicly praised and/or badmouthed because of their business practices or wares, etc. at some time or another. And if anyone (well, most anyone) is spending their hard-earned time and money, they're usually going to want to know what they're getting, shop around, critique, review, etc. So you should fully expect some follow-up threads like: "So how was she" coming in the future; expect folks to be candid--on forum and off. Posts in this thread my be extremely mild by comparison. Again, you'll have to remember that many will be viewing it as a business purchase--not a personal get-together with a close friend.

But hey, don't take my word for it. Ask Shannon. (Or just do a search for related threads involving her or other "pay-to-play" resources.) She seems very nice and approachable. So I'm sure she can tell you both the good and the bad of how things have gone for her. She may also be able to give some good tips for staying safe.
