Question about generating videos of real people

I have noticed some posts of specific people, mainly celebrities, who don't look like the actual celebrity. I copied an image of Drew Barrymore off the internet and tried to turn it into a feet tickling video. The result did not look like her.

If it did work, is this considered a deep fake and not allowed here?

There are lots of images and videos of "fictional" characters from movies and tv shows but those are still real people.

I hate to see a sincere question go unanswered. Even so, the only thing that qualifies me to comment is that I've been on the Forum for a few minutes.

On the neighboring "Artwork" section, you may have seen two pinned threads goimg back roughly twenty years. The one that mght be relevant prohibits any depiction of a character or person under the age of eighteen. This is relevant to your question only because it is the one plain, explicit and absolute prohibition I know of on the site. Likely. you are also aware of the rule against aging.

I try to observe two personal rules. First: When in Doubt, Don't. Second: I am a member of a community, and I want to stay.

Recently, I posted some of my early efforts. A regular member politely expressed a diffident doubt as to the maturity of unspecified figures. I took down one image from each of two posts.

I am in no position to read the rules for anyone but myself. I wish you a long and pleasurable tenure on this forum.

regardless of the rules of the forum, there are legal rules to consider and I've read that the current US administration plans on making examples of people. I wouldn't post AI pics of real people in positions that could be construed as "adult" or erotic or that depict them in restraints.

Not sure of forum rules, but it's certainly a gray area. I think trying to profit off someone's image or share widely is at minimum immoral. For your own enjoyment? I think that's fine.

I had an account banned just for creating a video of Marilyn Monroe wrapped in a blanket and tickled. Didn't even post it. Just be aware.

Some AI platform recognize famous people and block the generation,in general the AI tools I use tend to always change the face even if just a little so I don't know if there's some kind of protection in place or not.
Regarding the legality of posti AI stuff with recognizable celebrities I suggest to avoid completely because recently I saw news about legal actions against sites with deep fakes, sometimes I tried to do AI images of celebrities but never posted online(results were bad anyway).

That's what I have experienced so far. The Drew one was the only one I tried. It looked like her in the image but as soon as I made it a video her facial features changed to the point it didn't look like her at all. Some other members have posted celebs and they didn't look like the person either.

There have been quite a few posts of tv characters. I modified a couple of them from images to videos (with the members permission) and posted them. Specifically Elvira and another one of Dr. Crusher and Deanna Troi from Star Trek. Do we consider them "real" people? The were obviously real people but fictional characters. What is everyone's opinion on this scenario? Just stick to AI generated people?

Then it makes me wonder if the AI generated people are totally random in appearance or did the AI software grab an image of a person with pics on the internet?

I've noticed a lot more of this on DeviantArt. So many images follow a general description of Taylor Swift that I have to wonder if it's the writers of the prompts or the many different venues, from music video to football games, where Swift appears. Is she so pervasively present across media that it slants the training data?

If there's one face that shows up more frequently, it is Emma Watson's -- hand-drawn, digital and LLM-originated. If she were litigious over the issue, she could have spent every magical coin by now. And DA is monetized, which is a point in itself.

A cynic might say we're in an environment where one woman doesn't have cubic money and potential transgressors are wise enough to steer wide of the one who has.
