So, from what I think I know about this, the TMF itself can't be updated to a more modern forum format, am I correct on that or am I wrong?

If I'm correct, what happens when the software everyone is using (via their desktops, laptops, tablets, cell phones, etc etc) becomes unable to support this forum's coding anymore?
 
The forum itself is built in the vBullien software, and that is regularly updated. So no worries there.

The chat room is a different story, and the current one is dying in poeces, eventually we'll need to find a new chat solution there.
