Old stuff? It's better than a lot of stuff mate! Post away and be damned to the consequences. I might have to give you and Mil a Forum of your own.🙂
Can someone witness this please so I've got an excuse when I wallop the UKTF back to the stone age? Will post as much as I can tomorrow night but right now sleep is calling and I've still got code to write before the morrow.
On the camera front, if it's got firewire / IEE 1394 go grab yourself a DV cable like this:

That should let you link up the camera to the PC. Now I haven't got any info on that specific camera (Samsung seem to have a 'if it's a year old it doesn't exist' policy) but it'll let you either transfer data from the tape to the PC or, at worst, hook straight into the PC and you can use it as a very expensive web cam. Actually, the second option's preferable as that'll transmit the video digitaly and give the best possible quality. If you're running XP you should be able to use Movie Maker to capture the video and play around, then if you need anything more professional in terms of software you can get it later. As I suspect your PC ain't the quietest on the planet you might want to get the longest cable you can find and stick the machine behind some suitable sound killing material if you can.
Oh, and yes, I'll go with the more money than sense bit
😛. Don't think I've spent that much on my last seven machines put together. I work with this stuff for a living and have currently got my feet up on a 1700+ that's running my web site(s) and the main machine's a 2800+ that set me back about £400 plus a couple of hours of my time to build the thing. A 3200+, that's just silly. Nice, but silly
😀 And yes, I am a cheap bastard, why'd you ask?
