Lately when I've right clicked on a file a small tab has appeared on my desktop. The tab won't vanish unless I restart my computer, switch users or change screen resolutions. When I bring up a page it's still there and won't vanish. I can't click on this tab or anything.

I was wondering if someone knew what was going on and what I can do to fix this problem. I've taken a screen shot. You can see the tab pretty well, but just in case you don't know what I'm talking about it has the word 'Rename' on it.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

I'm going to hazard a guess that it's graphics related. I see you use Windows 7. Do you know if this machine has sufficient graphical power to run the fancy themes Windows 7 likes? You can try testing this.

1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
2. Now, do one of two things. By this, I mean look for the first and if you don't find it, move to the second; what you see depends on your view of the Control Panel.
2.a) Find "Appearance and Personalization" and choose "Change the theme"
2.b) Find "Personalization" and choose "Theme"
3. In the drop-down list, choose "Windows Classic" for a theme.
4. Select "Okay" and let Windows change the theme. Try right-clicking now; does it still occur?

I'm actually still using Vista.

Dang, what was I thinking? Well, the procedure is the same, actually, and my guess remains the same. Were you able to try that bit I wrote out?
