Hey guys,

I was wondering how you all are dealing with the clips4sale mess right now and what you plan to do when the get their stuff together. Are you all just sitting on clips because they won't let you update now? I'm just wondering if there's going to just be one day where every store has like a half-dozen new clips each. This whole thing is a bummer for the community, but probably an even bigger one for you guys and your business. We all appreciate your hard work and hope they can get it together soon. Best of luck!

Personally I didn't have any clips on clips4sale, but I was considering opening a store with them. Of course, right now it's not an option. I might still do it if and when they get things working again. We'll see.

While I don't have clips yet, the clips4sale problem has still resulted in a very disadvantageous situation for me. Six or seven months ago I was kicked out by PayPal because, supposedly, my site had "inappropriate" contents. HA! Ludicrous, of course, but there was nothing I could do about it, and losing PayPal meant losing my credit card billing system. Three months later I opened a store with videos4sale, the sister site to clips4sale, through which I could sell my physical videos by credit card again. Unfortunately, the clips4sale problems also affect videos4sale, and while I don't know for sure yet, it appears the new system might not support tangible goods transactions anymore. As far as I know, videos4sale is pretty much dead right now, so I'm once again left without a credit card billing system. I can still accept cash, money order and checks, of course, but it really hurts business not to be able to accept credit card payments. Sigh. Why does something so simple have to be so complicated?

All this say that, even without clips, the current clips4sale situation has affected me in a significant way, as it has several other vendors. As for what I'll do if clips4sale comes back for good, I guess I'll consider dealing with them for clips, as long as I'm confident enough that they won't experience server, bank or whatever problems again.

Strange business, considering the amount of "Inappropriate" content that sells on Ebay without any censure.

I know. It's silly and discriminatory. But the way understand it, the credit card companies (on which Ebay and PayPal depend) don't worry about "inappropriateness" as much as the fact that adult businesses tend to involve more fraud than average. Unfortunately, they don't bother to determine whether a vendor sells mild material or whether his/her business is a safe one due to the way it works or the nature of the products. They just dump everyone that has anything to do with something adult-related in the same pile. It's less work for them, but by doing so they penalize the majority of vendors that are perfectly harmless, just to protect themselves from the relatively small percentage of vendors that cause trouble.

I can't honestly say that I don't understand the billing companies. In their place I probably wouldn't be very pleased about fraud either. I suppose I would do something about it too, especially since the credit card companies (the real bullies) wouldn't give me a choice. But it doesn't make their policies and procedures any more pleasant. PayPal, for instance, was just perfect for selling my videos. But they closed my account without warning, never bothering to give more than a very vague explanation why they did it (despite my numerous email and phone attempts to get more feedback), and they froze the money I had left in my account for 180 days. How fair is that? Consering how mild my videos are, is it any wonder that Clips4sale.com have run into trouble as well?

Is it really the appropriateness of clips4sale's content that is the issue? I was under the impression that it was more of a technical issue. I sure hope it's not content...
