Many people remember Bill Buckner only for his error as a first baseman on a ground ball that ended game six of the 1986 World Series. That is sad because he was a fine player. I will always remember him as a speedy outfielder for the Dodgers in the early 1970's. I was sad when the Dodgers traded him to the Cubs.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Buckner.

I've been off the radar for the past week, thanks to Mother Nature and springtime in the Midwest.

I heard about Bart Starr last Saturday and then last Sunday heard of Bill Buckner. You're right Mils, it's sad that people remember Buckner for one play, he was a well rounded player. I remember him mostly as a Red Sox player, and a little as a Cub, but am too young to remember him as a Dodger. It was good to see Red Sox nation welcome him back with open arms during their recent World Series runs.
