As a resident of Tennessee and a lifelong Oilers/Titans fan, I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Steve McNair. He was one of the best players in the franchise's history and arguably the toughest quarterback to play the game. Steve played 13 seasons for the Oilers, Titans, and Ravens while amassing 3 Pro-Bowls, an MVP award, and an All-Pro selection. During his college career, he broke many records and won the 1994 Walter Payton Award while coming in 3rd place in the Heisman voting. He is survived by his wife and four children.

I just heard about this about half an hour ago. This is such a sad story. Steve McNair was the QB for my Ravens before Joe Flacco came into the league. He always came across as a good guy. What an absolute tragedy. I hope whatever happened is sorted out in short order.

I don't keep up with sports anymore, but i was an Oilers fan at one time and remember him well.Sad news.🙁

I dont follow football, but age 36 is far too young to go. What a tradegy! I feel terrible for their familes. R.I.P. to both of them.

Mitch

God...you would think that after all of the shit that has gone on with Celebs dying recently that we'd get a break, but then this happens. Even though I was never a huge Oilers/Titans fan, there was no denying that he was one of the more talented players of recent time. My heart goes out to his fans, his family and to anyone that knew him, my condolences.

May they both rest in peace. While I hate the Titans with a passion you couldn't possibly overlook the effort and skill that McNair brought to the team.

Mcnair was one hell of a football player and an even better person, he was the model citizen athlete and he went from this world far too young. May he rest in peace

Yeah he was a classy guy and would have been a shoo in for the HOF if not for all the injuries that nagged him throughout his career. A great quarterback and human being. :dropatear

I was shocked when I read this.
Far too young. And a football great.

RIP Steve, keep slinging em in the great stadium in the sky!

Rob
