Granted it should really never be used for a purpose such as torture. A little pain here and there might be okay but it's NOT OKAY to stretch someone to the point where their flesh tears and their bones break.

Amen!!! (Sorry, hafta rant; been feeling VERY strongly about this since I read something absolutely SHOCKING the other day)

Actual torture is the total opposite of S&M, even though the equipment and decor are the same. Real torture is a disgraceful crime against all humanity that degrades and shatters the victim, whereas a loving bondage session helps nurture the spirit. No two things could possibly be more opposite.

It's a pretty large community, with lots of people in it. We're not all clones of each other~ *laughs* Yes, not everyone knows such labels. That language.

I used to have issue with seeing people in pain, long, long time ago. It took actual communication to understand what I was seeing, what I was projecting wasn't exactly what was happening. Ones perception of another's reaction says nothing about what is being reacted to. It's not the pain. It's not just the moment itself. It can be a complete myriad of moments, memories~ feelings and emotions. The pain is just a trigger, sometimes it's not even that. I couldn't understand that it wasn't as simple as converting pain to pleasure~ it is what it is, but it's more than just the projection some place on it.

To many, they see the stinging of pain as if it was the meaning itself, but it's a language not everyone understands. Even in "the community" that language is unique to every single individual who experiences it. You may listen, but you may never understand~ but if you can at least know that much then maybe you'll be able to know the words anyway.

I would think ticklers would understand that somehow, intimately~ I've always seen tickling as a sort of pain. I've always seen it as an element of BDSM. I've always seen that internal struggle, that torment. I've made people cry through tickling. I've seen them shattered. That's also pain. If you're not prepared to understand the control you have has an effect on the person you're with~ you lack an understanding in your own fetish and the levels it possesses. It's intense. Pain is one road, one of many that can take you to that same place. I lack experience, I lack bdsm experience~ but I know that much. People have thresholds, we toy with them every day~ some cross them more than others... some never know where their lines are drawn, or are too afraid to touch them. Others~ are far braver. <3
