My husband just got me a Nook this past Mother's Day, and I've been exploring the wonderful world of ebooks. It didn't occur to me until the last week to see if there are any good tickling related books out there - SHOCKING, I know 🙂 But I'm kind of new to the erotic novel genre, so I guess it took me awhile to think of it.

Last year, I read all three books of "Fifty Shades of Grey" (don't judge), and found myself anxiously flipping the pages, just hoping that a tickling scene was on the next page. I mean, how do you tie up a beautiful girl and NOT tickle her?? Christian Grey found a way - evil bastard. It was only in the THIRD book of the series (and only for about a page and a half) that Christian Grey FINALLY tickled the girl. Let me say that again - THREE fucking books before it happened!!! And when it did, I ended up reading that same scene about 57 times.... any more than that would have been a bit excessive, and I'm nothing if not the very picture of self-restraint.

Then a friend of mine suggested that I read the series "Bared to You" by Sylvia Day (another erotic novel series). Again, there were three books. Again I found myself hoping for some tickling scenes. AGAIN, I was woefully disappointed. But this time I wised up and didn't get the third book - I just couldn't take it anymore. Why was I reading these books that were painfully devoid of the ONE thing I wanted to read about?? Made no sense. So, I took the plunge and bought "Her Ticklish Side" by Devlin Lucas instead. Smart move - and it only took me five badly written erotic novels to get there. So I'm a little slow. Shut up.

I found myself reading this book at a much slower pace, less frantic to get to the next page because I was guaranteed (given the title) to have plenty of tickling scenes to enjoy. I'll go so far as to say that I savored the book - there was none of the skimming over entire pages of sexual (non-tickling) descriptives as there was in all the other novels. I took my time with it.... well, sort of. I think I finished the book in less than two hours. But they were two blissfully contented hours.

Let me just say - this book was HOT. It had everything I was looking for in an erotic novel - great characters, believable storyline, fun dialogue between the characters, and lots and lots of tickling 🙂 It made me wish that Devlin Lucas had more novels under his belt, but I don't think he does.

So that left me in a bit of a quandary - what to read next? Has anyone here read any more tickling novels and enjoyed them? I'd appreciate any suggestions you have and your thoughts on the book.

Thanks!
Maggie

This is totally weird but I've never told anyone before... My mom writes erotic fiction, and when she was first starting out, she'd read a lot of erotic novels herself. So when I was 14 or so, I would borrow some of her books that she wasn't currently reading, and read them myself, looking for tickling scenes. I was pretty disappointed at how rare tickling is in those erotic books, but when I did find some it was awesome! I can't remember any off the top of my head [I didn't pay much attention to the titles] but if I ever come across more, I will name them here.

Thanks, Brandi! I have to agree - there's a serious lack of tickling in most erotic novels. It's frustrating as HELL!! I think it's cool that your mom penned a few of those kinds of books. I was actually toying around with the idea myself. I've posted a bunch of stories here on the TMF, and they all seemed to be pretty well received. From there, I figure it's just a hop, skip and a jump to becoming the next E.L. James 😉

Well, you did ask for ANY suggestions so, here you go! If you don't mind m/m regardless if it is realistic or outlandish scenarios there is My Name is Rand I will warn you that there is lots of explicit m(*)/m including, but not limited to: bondage, tickling (almost everything from erotic to torture/punishments), and sex/sexual things going on. But, I don't know if it is an e-book.

As for me, I bought the book years ago cause I read a exert from the book and I really enjoyed the writing and attention to detail. If you didn't know before reading it would be very apparent from the writing that the author is a tickle fetishist. Also, I enjoy */m more than */f.

And now I'm sad because my copy is currently in another country far far away from me... Damn it.

I don't know if Nook can read kindle books, or if same books are out for nook, but just plug tickling into search. A good few erotic novels will come up specifically for tickle fans (Severin as author on a few). there are f/f, m/f, m/m, etc. Just make sure to read descriptions.

LOL, sorry I made you jones for your favorite tickle book 🙂 I don't mind m/m tickling - I actually prefer it over f/f tickling. But m/f is still my preference. I don't mind some sexual content - in "Her Ticklish Side", the leading male character ends up going down on the girl while tickling her (which was FUCKING HOT), but for the most part, I want the content to focus mainly on tickling. Like your favorite book, I liked Devlin Lucas' book because he is a good writer, who happens to also love to write about tickling. I found out after purchasing "Tickling Crystal" by Sara Tyr that good writing matters just as much to me as the tickling does. There was A LOT of typos in "Tickling Crystal" and being somewhat of a grammar snob, it bugged me enough to take away some of my enjoyment of the storyline.

Here's one for you:

I found the author on FetLife.

I saw "Tickling Daphne" on the (very) short list of tickling related ebooks when I did a google search. I was going to buy it (probably still will), but for whatever reason, I opted for "Tickling Crystal" instead - which I wouldn't recommend to anyone (unless they don't care about particularly good writing).

Did you enjoy "Tickling Daphne"? Was it overly sexual or did it focus predominantly on tickling?

I found out the hard way about reading the descriptions carefully. I bought one book called "Frisky Business" because it came up when I searched tickling novels. What I didn't read was the title of the page "tickling and other fetish erotica".... it was the OTHER FETISH EROTICA part that I missed - probably because I was too busy thinking about tickling 🙂 So, I bought this book in the hopes that I would find just as much tickling in it as I did with "Her Ticklish Side". Nope. Nada. Not a single tickle scene in the whole book - felt like I was back to reading 50 Shades again. Luckily, it was only $3.99, so it wasn't a very costly mistake. But I'm wise to it now, and will definitely pay more attention to detail in the future.

Is there a specific title by Severin that you would recommend? Keeping my preference for m/f tickling in mind...

I only read the sample chapter, so I can't really say too much about it. It doesn't seem like great literature or anything, but there's a lot of talk about tickling right off the bat.

I thought "Her ticklish side" was fantastic. I loved the way it was believable throughout, and culminated in a very hot final scene. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it yet, assuming you're into m/f tickling. I thought it was an interesting choice though for the author to avoid foot tickling. Perhaps he felt that no matter how he did it, a lot of people would not be satisfied?

Mr. Tickle -

We are on exactly the same page! I had the same reaction to "Her Ticklish Side". I thought it was really well written, which I've come to find out (recently) is a rarity in the erotic/tickling novel world. I have bought "Tickling Daphne" and "Ticking Crystal" in the last month, and I thought they were both pretty bad when it came to storyline and writing ability. For me, that is just as important as the tickle scenes, and when I don't have them, it really detracts from my enjoyment of the book. What I really want is a well written book that just happens to have A LOT of tickling in it. So far, "Her Ticklish Side" is the only one that has measured up.

Also, I picked up on the lack of foot tickling in the book too. I actually wrote an email to the author, both to thank him for good read and also to ask him a couple of questions - why he opted to omit foot tickling was one of them. I'm assuming that it's because there is a TON of foot tickling/fetish stuff on the web and he was just trying to fill the void with the upper-body tickling fans out there. Or he could be a guy who has that preference himself. Hard to say - I haven't heard back from him yet.

So I've decided to try and write an erotic tickling novel myself. I'm already a blog writer, so this sort of project is right in the middle of my comfort zone. I'm about 10 pages into it so far. I thought that since I couldn't find what I was looking for out there, I would have to make it for myself. I hope that when I'm done with it, it will be something that all tickle lovers can enjoy.
