My husband just got me a Nook this past Mother's Day, and I've been exploring the wonderful world of ebooks. It didn't occur to me until the last week to see if there are any good tickling related books out there - SHOCKING, I know 🙂 But I'm kind of new to the erotic novel genre, so I guess it took me awhile to think of it.
Last year, I read all three books of "Fifty Shades of Grey" (don't judge), and found myself anxiously flipping the pages, just hoping that a tickling scene was on the next page. I mean, how do you tie up a beautiful girl and NOT tickle her?? Christian Grey found a way - evil bastard. It was only in the THIRD book of the series (and only for about a page and a half) that Christian Grey FINALLY tickled the girl. Let me say that again - THREE fucking books before it happened!!! And when it did, I ended up reading that same scene about 57 times.... any more than that would have been a bit excessive, and I'm nothing if not the very picture of self-restraint.
Then a friend of mine suggested that I read the series "Bared to You" by Sylvia Day (another erotic novel series). Again, there were three books. Again I found myself hoping for some tickling scenes. AGAIN, I was woefully disappointed. But this time I wised up and didn't get the third book - I just couldn't take it anymore. Why was I reading these books that were painfully devoid of the ONE thing I wanted to read about?? Made no sense. So, I took the plunge and bought "Her Ticklish Side" by Devlin Lucas instead. Smart move - and it only took me five badly written erotic novels to get there. So I'm a little slow. Shut up.
I found myself reading this book at a much slower pace, less frantic to get to the next page because I was guaranteed (given the title) to have plenty of tickling scenes to enjoy. I'll go so far as to say that I savored the book - there was none of the skimming over entire pages of sexual (non-tickling) descriptives as there was in all the other novels. I took my time with it.... well, sort of. I think I finished the book in less than two hours. But they were two blissfully contented hours.
Let me just say - this book was HOT. It had everything I was looking for in an erotic novel - great characters, believable storyline, fun dialogue between the characters, and lots and lots of tickling 🙂 It made me wish that Devlin Lucas had more novels under his belt, but I don't think he does.
So that left me in a bit of a quandary - what to read next? Has anyone here read any more tickling novels and enjoyed them? I'd appreciate any suggestions you have and your thoughts on the book.
Thanks!
Maggie
