Every once in a great while I see a true "quality woman" -- a straight-up magnificent beauty -- sitting in the park with her bare feet propped up. Now, that's not saying that most of the women I shoot aren't cute or otherwise attractive, just that the top tier beauties are rare. This girl was a top tier beauty. She was sitting in the park early in the fall of 2015, her running shoes off, her big feet up, as shapely and devestatingly gorgeous as the rest of her. So I walked over, very careful not to act to excited. She had the chair with her feet on it turned so the seat back was in front of her face, so I had to sit very close, and getting to that close place in a nonchalant way is not as easy as it sounds.

But I did it. As I sat down her eyes followed me. I took out my phone and checked my mail/texts for a minute or so, and then I opened my bag and took out the camera. I flipped the viewfinder open and pointed the lens at her. Through the viewfinder I could see she was tossing her hair a bit, and her beautiful big shapely soles just FILLED the viewfinder. Then I saw her look at me, and she looked a few times, one after the other. I held my breath. Later when I got home I saw a little smirk on her face, which I couldn't see in the viewfinder, so I didn't know if this was it. But it wasn't, she kept those feet down, kept texting. I was so relieved. Her soles were so close if I had reached out I could have stroked their soft, tender, sensitive flesh. I settled in hoping for a long session. A little girl at one point ran right through the narrow space between me and her foot chair, so I cut that out, but otherwise I was shooting this AMAZING VIEW for about four minutes when she suddenly stood right up and spun her foot chair around 90 degrees, swiveled her fanny and put her feet back up.

Now, I would normally have taken this as a sign that she wanted me to stop, but when I am really in the zone, all I think about is getting footage of the soles. So I got up, grabbed my bag, pretended I was making a phone call, paced around a little, then sat down right in front of her soles in her new location. I shot a quick glance at her and she was looking at me, a smile on her face. I took this to mean she either changed position for some other reason, or she was just making me work, not making it easy for me, to see just how much I wanted her soles. I really wanted those beauties, so I took the camera back out and kept shooting. Once again I was so close her big feet loomed huge in the viewfinder. I shot about another ten minutes, and every time she picked her head up and looked around I gasped because her FACE IS SO GODDAM GORGEOUS. She is a goddess. I am amazed that I got this.

After another heart attack inducing ten minutes or so got up again, I thought to leave but she went over the the left side of her chair and lay on the lawn, her ankles crossed, her big soles again very visible. Again I had to get up to get the perspective soles view and again I did, and again she chuckled when I was sitting down. I shot about another six minutes of her as she lay on the grass and continued to text. Then she sat up, and soon after that went back to her chair and put her big blue and grey running shoes back on. I pulled my headphones off when she got a call, and she said, in a very girlish voice, that she was sorry she was late and would be back to the show right away. She hustled off the lawn, and I got up and sat in the chair where she'd been. I sat there for a while, thinking, did that just happen?

Well, YES IT DID, and on the last day of the lawn's open season, IT HAPPENED AGAIN with the same girl, who again let me shoot for 45 minutes, leading me to believe that this quality woman didn't have an issue with my shooting vid of her big gorgeous soles.

I made about a hundred caps, and it was hard to decide which to show!

You have terrific patience and the guts of a burglar. I also think you have developed a poise at it over time and somehow many of your subjects pick up on it and may allow you latitude others might not get .. (FYI I PMed you )

I don't just catch soles in the park! Over on the other side, the library every once in a great while yields results too. Usually not, because there's not really anywhere to sit, although some of you may remember the Russian girl who smoked a cigarette and peeked at me as I shot the soles of her feet while I was, err, sitting on the sidewalk? smiley: laugh

Well this time it wasn't necessary, as this girl was perched up near the defunct fountain called "Truth" on the north side of the library entrance (it's supposed to have been fixed and be pumping water again this summer, but I haven't seen those fountains pump water since I was in my 20s). She was reading a magazine in French, but she has very Arab looks, and is devestatingly beautiful. My guess is French girl of Arab ancestry, or a Lebanese girl.

And there she was, sitting in a place where she could take in the pretty reflecting pool near the fountain ... and where I could sit on the steps going up the the fountain and shoot some footage! Just look at that face, my God! And to see the face and then see those highly arched, soft soles with some occasionally quite frisky footplay, and I dare you not to fall completely in love with her! Her feet, about size 8, are gorgeous and shapely with adorable plump little toes. That day she was wearing a pair of herringbone Vans with white socks ... but thank god not while she was reading her magazine!

The greatest thing was, this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL girl knew exactly what I was up to and gave so many sly, suppressed smiles as I shot the video. At first when she saw the camera she looked around and had a facial expression like, "WTF?" but soon she seems to have realized I was admiring her bare feet and that seemed to be fine. She was pretty playful and I think performed a little when she saw she was being filmed, although when I was walking along the terrace and first saw her, she was doing this exact kind of foot play. I know that showing bare soles is an insult in Arab culture, but this girl is a modern and forward-looking as they come so I think she was definitely NOT flipping everyone the bird by having her soles way up in public like that. Several guys hovered around her as I shot -- I was FAR from alone in coming over and getting a look at her beautiful face and sexy bare soles, but I absolutely captured the best memories of them!

When the lawn opened in spring of 2014, the first day was kind of a bummer, a bit chilly for the season. Not much action, so I took to strolling all around the perimeter, including in front of the library, usually just to keep moving more than with expectation of anything too much going on. But sometimes it yields a great segment .. like this one!

This girl was sitting in front of the library, tourists all around her, resting her tired feet, her running shoes and white cotton socks on the ground. Her feet were beyond that, "maybe a little bigger than average" appearance -- they were flat-out BIG, like between size 10 and size 11 big. And she was only about five foot four or five! Wow. Her running shoes really tipped me off, because those suckers were massive. She was so gorgeous, I mean her face was utterly PERFECT. I honestly don't know how her face could be any prettier. So I sat right down and shot, right?

Wrong. Many issues here. First, a bunch of tourists were in front of her, a whole clan who didn't look like they'd be moving any time soon. Second, this was on the terrace in front of the library, and there's no grass. Sitting and getting the right angle, especially under the seat back, means sitting on the sidewalk right in front of someone. I have to be in just the right mood to do it, basically properly driven, and I wasn't in that mood yet because those people were in front of her so I didn't even have to ask if I were up for it. I sat about fifty feet away and watched, not expecting much, but then, to my surprise, the people promptly got up and left. There was this guy who had been checking out her feet for a while sitting to her right, and I saw he was eyeing the chair in front of her, now available, so that gave me the sense of urgency I needed to ... well ... sit on the sidewalk right in front of her. As I walked over she was ending a phone call, and from her accent I could tell she's not American. It sounded kind of French so I wondered if she's Haitian or maybe from one of those African countries where people speak French. I sat down, she ended her call, the camera came out, and she looked at it. And looked at it. And looked at it! But I had done this stupid fucking thing and I was not about to assume the worst and just get up and leave without shooting, so I pressed record and let the chips fall where they may. To my relief she started texting, then looked down at the camera, then texted some more and smiled. Thank God -- ok, so I think I'm good.

I sat there for about seventeen minutes and I shot footage of her big bare soles and incredibly pretty face as she texted, laughed, looked at the camera, looked around, and, a few times, took selfies. Selfies irritate some people but I find it very cute, especially when a beauty does it. Toward the end this adorable creature with big feet put her hood up, which made her even more adorable, and a bit later put those feet side by side. I love how long her feet are and how her toes taper in that regal way. Unfortunately that guy who had been sitting over to her right had an opportunity to get closer so he got up and moved to a nearby chair, still to her right, staring at her toes as he got up. She noticed this and gave him a look as he approached. Interestingly, my sitting right on the sidewalk in front of her for over 15 minutes didn't spook her, but this guy looking at her toes DID! Go figure, but she put her feet down. I sat there hoping they'd return, but about five minutes later she got up and left.

One thing I love about this is that the fabric lines from her white socks had left a mark on her soft, tender feet that was still there when when put her feet down -- at LEAST a half hour after she took her socks off!

Late in the season I'm mostly at the park to listen to some radio programs I like and peoplewatch, not to shoot feet, but of course I have my camera with me anyway, because if I see propped up soles and don't have my camera, I'd kill myself! I would truly have done just that if I had wandered upon THIS sight without a way to capture it -- a Latina with a magnificent lustrous head of hair, a face that I will let speak for itself because words are not up to the task, and gorgeous, soft, shapely little feet, still pink from having been encased in high heel black ankle boots! And her arches were so ample and deeply curved -- wow. She seemed pretty clearly an illustrator as when I walked past and saw her, she was very, very focused on her sketchpad, drawing a comic-style portrait of a woman -- it was really, really good and I suspect she is a professional artist.

So I see her and I nearly have a heart attack, but after the moment of amazement, I think, ok now I have to capture some footage. The fates were smiling on me today and I was able to sit on a stone step that was at the edge of this elevated seating area and get my camera out. For a good ten minutes she sat there, oblivious to me, flexing her feet as she drew (I stick my tongue out when I concentrate on a sketch -- I think she flexes her toes). After a while she came up from her concentration and noticed me. At that point, as always, I wondered what she would do, but I wasn't too worried because I already had ten minutes of footage. But she looked at me with a kind of gentle bemusement, not anger at all. She flexed her feet a bit, and went back to her work. I was so relieved!

I shot her for about another fifteen minutes after she noticed, and that's where the footage from this clip comes from. She moved around a bit but always kept her feet up for me, sometimes giving me a curious look and with a little smile she was trying to keep to herself. What's interesting about this segment is, just as I was drawn to her dazzling beauty and straight-out gorgeous feet, many others were too. It must be weird to be this beautiful, because people treat you like public property. Three times guys came over and talked to her, and she was polite but basically brushed them all off. The funniest was the third guy, and older Latino dude who actually came into the lens for a while when he was checking out her toes. (I edited him out.) Then he came over and stood basically right over me, and I assume he saw the camera because it was right there in my lap. He said something to her in Spanish, loud enough that she could hear him, and she says, curtly but with a little smile (see the fifth vidcap), thank you, then she says something else in Spanish. At that point he left.

As often happens, when some guy comes along and talks to the girl she often puts her shoes back on. And this happened here too -- she put her little black and white striped socks on, then her very high heeled boots. (I think she's little and likes the extra height from the boots, but I guess they hurt her tender feet ... or maybe she just likes to sketch with her bare feet up.) I had the presence of mind to capture her putting her socks and boots back on, after shutting off the camera I remembered lots of guys like that so switched it back on and was able to catch most of it. Then she put her feet back up, this time with her boots on, and I caught a few moments of that too, zooming in on the shoe size thing on one sole. I analyzed this for a while and eventually I was able to just barely make out an "8" after another numeral, which I assume means she's a size 38 (US size 7.5). I wonder how long she would have let me shoot had the guy not come along and said something to her, presumably about her feet? Generally speaking the women seem to prefer that you quietly and very discreetly shoot video of their feet from a bit of a distance than that you holler at them, as the kids would say.

As it is, I'm glad I got all the footage I did of this dazzling Latin beauty and her completely adorable bare soles.

This was shot in early Fall of 2013 but was stored away on an external hard drive I lost track of, and has now been liberated!

I was at the park and had shot a few segments but had to leave, and on my way back to work I passed by this concrete plaza in front of a building on 51st and Park. I usually cast my eye quickly over places like that just in case some sole exposure is offering itself up. This time I saw a lady very well dressed, and I could see her bare feet were peeking out of her pumps, so I went over to investigate. There was indeed some sexy heel pop action, but what I was stunned and delighted to notice was there was also a funky-looking Chinese girl in very casual clothing stretched out and relaxed, laying on the seating area. This is a place where people are usually dressed in business outfits but here she was, very casual, in a leather jacket and jeans, her grey boots off, her feet propped up on them, reading a study guide for a medical exam. My guess is that she works as a temp as she puts herself through medical school, and maybe she was on her break from temping at one of the businesses in the highrise office building that's behind the concrete park. I have only had very few shooting opps like this but they are completely thrilling when they happen -- the reason I started shooting candids is I saw a very attractive middle-aged Indian lady sitting in the plaza of an office building with her large gorgeous soles propped up in just this way and always regretted not being able to capture any images.

So anyway I went over to where she was seated, took out the camera, turned it on, put it on the step, propped up the front a little to get her head in the frame (I have these little blocks I have for that purpose, just in case) and started shooting. She was very mellow about the whole thing, despite the fact that the camcorder will sitting right out there on the ledge, pointed at the bottoms of her bare feet. She was very cute, with a very Chinese face, but with her hair tinted blonde. Her big eyes were wide set and I'd say she's maybe five foot one or two. Her feet were little, maybe size 6, and had some very slight callousing on the balls of her feet but otherwise they looked awesome. Like so many Asian girls, her bare feet were very frisky as she lay there reading, and they rubbing together almost constantly. Asian girls love to rub their feet together! Not sure why.

Meanwhile people were walking by in business suits and, while most didn't notice, every once in a while some folks did. Most notably, a group of men and women in suits bought some hot dogs and ate them on the plaza, then eventually noticed the camera and joked about it. One woman came and stood right over where we were sitting, so she could look into the viewfinder, then she said "AHHH!" and started laughing, then went back over to tell her associates that I was filming this girl's feet. The girl just sat there, reading her book, sort of above the antics, caressing her sensitive bare feet absentmindedly together, and occasionally looking at the camera. She even slid her feet over so that her soles were pointed more directly at the lens, which I was so pleased and surprised by. She knew what I craved!

After about five minutes the space on my camcorder's hard drive was used up, and I frantically deleted another clip that was on the drive (not nearly as nice as this one -- no loss), and I got the camera back in place, with another eight minutes now freed up. I shot more, using up all that eight minutes, and so I had to interrupt shooting again, and find another stored clip to delete, but as I was doing that she looked at her watch, put her grey boots back on, and left. As she walked past me she shot me a quick look with a "you naughty boy" smile on her cute little face. I watched her walk back into the building, then I packed up and left, on a kind of high, knowing what amazing material I had just captured right in the middle of Manhattan, right out on the streets!

Actually as this was shot two years ago, for all I know, she's a doctor now, in a white coat, standing on her poor tender tootsies doing an endless shift ....
