what is your Take on them?

personally. i could really care less for them. i find them stupid and a waste. The only reality tv shows that i watch is Fear Factor. my mom loves watching them though.

Does anybody here watch reality tv shows? why? or why not?

There's no entertainment for the likes of me. I wanted to see someone stick that Omarosa bitch into a blender on 'The Apprentice', but woe is me, it didn't happen 😀

In moments of severe boredom, I recall trying to watch a few reality shows. After about 5 minutes, I changed the channel. Generally, I find them annoying and fraught with ignorance...much like reality...

Personally, I think they're all rigged. Oh yes, even American Idol- why else would people with so very much talent be booted off, and people with so little be on that show in the first place?! But hey, it gets GREAT ratings, so i guess it has served it's purpose.

As for the rest of them- Ive only watched like, 2 of them, and I think of them like all other sitcoms- written, rehersed, and performed for an audience. They're all actors/actresses, so why not enjoy it for what it really is? I just get a kick out of most of them 😉

The only one i really hate is "the swan". I think the person who thought of that one should be burned at the stake- ok, so that was mean, maybe i don't really feel that upset, but like, the show just pisses me off. And we wonder why young women of today have disorders! It's be one thing if they spread a positive message by the women on the show changing their diets, exercizing, and getting 'old-fashioned' makeovers, but like, SURGERY?! Makes me sick.... That's not entertainment to me, that's just sad.

i like'd "mad mad house", on the sci-fi channel. i hope they do a second season.

i also like "scare tactics", also on the sci-fi channel.

the rest i wouldn't wipe my arse with. i prefer to read, than to watch most of t.v. these days.

I'm a big fan of "Survivor." I find it entertaining every week, and I like to try and guess who going to get kicked off during the episode. It was great to see Rupert win the million dollars and see him bring his wife and daughter to the stage. Hey, it's just entertainment.

I think all the other reality shows stink, but it all depends on what you like.

Personally, I think the whole title of "reality show" is way overused. Look back at some of the shows of the past...Candid Camera, The Krypton Factor (anybody remember THAT one?), Battle of the Network Stars, and umpteen game shows. Nothing is changed, format-wise...what is being done now is making sure the roundup of contestants will not get along with each other. THAT'S the whole hook of the whole recent 'reality' thing. The pitting of people against each other has taken precendence of whatever contest is actually the centerpiece of the show.

I really dont like all the reality shows only cause most of them look like they would never really happen to a average everyday person like me. that and i really dont get the story line to them always.
