Too Many Champions In Heaven
------------------------------------------------

High above the earth, up in Heaven,
In God's Arena, every night is a sellout
and Heaven's Champions stride out to
the squared circle.

Where Gorilla Moonsoon, Gordon Solie, and Freddie Miller
are calling the action;
Joey Morella, Mark Curtis, and Phil Taggart are the evenings refs.

In Heaven they can see Brian Pillman, Owen Hart, and Curt Hennig
engage in a 3-way dance, that is
Match of the Year every night.

Where Dino Bravo proves that he is indeed
Canada's strongest man; and every night
Dick the Bruiser proves he's the toughest of them all
by "killing all those bums" in Heaven.

Where Road Warrior Hawk walks up to the Pearly Gates, and in an awed hush,
whispers "What a rush..."

Where Yokozuna is no longer hindered by his weight,
and can wrestle with the grace and speed of a cruiserweight.

Where the Von Erich boys, David, Kerry, Mike, Chris, and Fritz
look down on their brother Kevin, knowing one day
they will reunite in Heaven.

Where Bruiser Brody, "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer, The Sheik,
Moondog Spot, Flyboy Rocco Rock
and Crash Holly look down and smile at those on Earth,
who claim to be hardcore;
And every night in Heaven, they see Rick Rude take
his robe off, showing them all what a real sexy man
is supposed to look like.

Where "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith comes to the ring,
to "God Save The Queen";
Draped with the Union Jack proudly displayed across his back.

Where Louie Spicolli, Bobby Duncam Jr, Art Barr, Russ Haas, Neil Superior,
and Richard Wilson sit around saying to each other, "What might have been."

Where Dory Funk Sr., Gene Anderson, Pat O'Connor, "Iron" Mike DiBiase,
Ray "The Crippler" Stevens, Stu Hart, Bronko Nagurski ,
Ed "Strangler" Lewis, and Frank Gotch, are sitting at a bar,
telling stories about the good ole days when men were men.

Where Eddie Gilbert is raising a little Hell, And Adrian Adonis, from Hell's Kitchen,
is riding Harleys with the Angels.

Where the "Manager of Champions" Grand Wizard is still in the corner of the "Heels".

Where "Gorgeous" George still sprays his cologne amidst the ring,
drawing the ire of his opponent and fans,
to the strains of "Pomp and Circumstance".

Where Vince McMahon Sr. looks down at what his son has done,
And with a tear in his eye, hangs his head in shame.

Where Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy sits patiently with the Von Erich boys,
drinking beer, laughing and reminiscing about times past,
waiting for the long anticipated Von Erich-Freebird reunion.

Where the Original "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers, is still the Toast of the Town.

Where Bobo Brazil, Junkyard Dog, and "High Chief" Peter Maivia are looking down from Heaven, and
relishing in the fact that the racism they went through was well worth it,
when they see the crowd cheer
The Rock, Booker T, and Ron Simmons.

Where "The Hollywood Fashion Plate", "Classie" Freddie Blassie still brandishes his cane,
yelling at the "pencil-necked geeks", and having breakfast with Andy Kaufman.

Where Shohei "Giant" Baba proudly watches over
the Japanese wrestlers, wearing a broad smile.

Where Miss Elizabeth is finally at peace, in a place filled with as much beauty
as she once was, and still is.

Where Andre The Giant towers over everyone, and even in Heaven,
he's still the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Yes, every night in Heaven, the fans go home happy, knowing that every night,
they can see Heaven's Champions perform for their pleasure.

So the next time you see your favorite wrestlers, be it on TV, or live at the arena,
whether they are in the WWE or at an Indy show; pray for their safety,
and their families, because there are just too many Champions in Heaven now,
and we need all the Champions we can get here on Earth.

A brilliant poem. Some of my faveourite wrestlers are ones that died to early.

Brilliant is the word. And informative. I had no idea Bamm Bamm Gordy passed on.

Uh What Was Wrong...

With my post. There is nothing wrong with pointing out that many of the actors in the above "poem" died due to substance abuse. And there is nothing wrong with pointing out that more than a few were rapists..

None of these individuals are in heaven.

Or does the TMF now support rape and substance abuse? I'm curious...

Thanks Laz...

Thanks Laz' that was a pretty cool tribute to the greats of Sports Entertainment. As for you Tron, this was writen for wrestling fans, not nay-sayer's like yourself. For me to say anymore then that would be a disrespect to Laz's awsome efforts. Simply put for those who do beleave no excuse is nessisary, for those who don't no excuse is good enuff.

Tron

Prove which ones are rapists and prove that they are not in heaven or
dont post flame starting statements that you cannot back up. Otherwise they will be deleted when deemed necessary.😉

You have a thing for just trying to get to the people that happen to like wrestling or rap or other things you dislike. Too bad.

(oh and if you are going to quote eminem, at least take note that he can spell the word "me" properly) ROFLMAO!!!!!

(unless YOU now support ignorance and illiteracy LOL )

Thanks, Venray...

For taking issue with this...

I would've responded, but I then realized I am an adult, and too old to lower myself to the levels some here reach.

Not to get off topic....

VERY decent poem Laz. 🙂 I didn't know Stu Hart was dead though. 😱

Didn't Davey Boy come in to Rule Brittania?😉

Tron dude, fancy a bra and panties match at Wrestlemania 21?

Right you are, Brah...

Good catch....

I'll have to pay attention to my typos more in the future....

😀

Excellent post. I enjoyed the visuals I got while reading it. Sad that many of those in the poem did die much too young.
