That is a very good question. I don't have any experience with the iPad but I would be interested in hearing feedback.

Not quite sure what you mean, but if it's downloaded, e-book type of comics that you mean, it deppends on the format. I got an iPad, and for pdf comics (such as those from MTJ), I just use iBooks. For the ones in cbr format, I use Stanza -a bit fiddly at times, but it's free. 🙂
