I wanted to use this thread to have a rant about how utterly disappointing and infuriating Regal Cinemas here in Lancaster, PA are. I have lived in this area for five and one half years, and, as many of you know, I attend movies at that theater often, as I love to go to the movies, and the cinema is right down the street from my apartment, literally.
This year, it seems to me that our theater has been cheating us out of movies which other parts of the country have gotten. Our theater did not show "Delovely", and does not have on its schedule "Beyond the Sea" or "Kinsey Report". In an area the size of this, it seems disgraceful to me that the movie going public should be deprived of these films. Additionally, I have posted on here in the past year what it took to get F-911 and Closer to come to our theater. One has to wonder why Regal does not show major movies at this theater. I know there is a "distribution round" or such of what movies to show at different theaters, but I also know that my friends in New York have seen all these movies. Instead of these first rate movies that arent being shown here, Regal chooses to take up its cinemas with things such a "Dude, Where's My Car?". I have posted more than one complaint on Regal's website, and it just seems like movie after movie isnt shown here!
I have to wonder what the hell is going through Regal executives minds when they make their choice of what films to release! Dont they think that movie patrons want to see these top rate films which they are not showing? I wont lie when I say that I have seen my share of fine films during my time in Lancaster, including some excellent ones over this Christmas season. I just wonder why Regal has this policy of failing to release some of the top movies here!?
Okay, end of rant! GRRRR! As someone who spends hundreds of dollars in the movies every year, I just feel cheated as a patron to have to miss these top movies, all because I live in an area with a policy such as Regal's! 😡
